Day 1b Started
Day 1b of the €300,000 guaranteed partypoker Grand Prix Killarney €340 Main Event at the INEC and Gleneagle Hotel gets underway at 2 p.m. today.
Yesterday saw 100 entries for Day 1a where local player Thomas Gallagher topped the leader board of the surviving 24 players by bagging 243,000.
Day 1b is likely to attract around 400 entries with many of those having won their seats online at partypoker with feeder satellites starting from as little as €2 with the dream of spinning it up into a mega payday.
Partypoker Ambassador Padraig Parkinson missed the target yesterday but has vowed to reload and fire a few more bullets in hopes of making it to Day 2.
The schedule is the same as yesterday with a 25,000 starting stack and 12 40-minute levels. There will be a 20-minute break after every three levels and a dinner break after level six. Late registration closes at the start of level seven. Players are permitted one re-entry per starting flight.
Today also sees a Turbo Day 1c which begins at 7:30 p.m. and has 25-minute levels with late registration open until 10:30 pm.
The final chance to make Day 2 takes place with a turbo Day 1d at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.
There will also be plenty of craic in the exclusive Players Lounge and cash games will be running all day with food and drinks served at the tables.
Stay tuned to PokerNews as the Live Reporting team brings all the action from the felt as well as stunning photos of the tournament and videos from Killarney.

Cards are in the air for Day 1b of the Main Event!
The room is buzzing, the cards are flying and the chips are being riffled, ready for 10 hours of poker.
Day 1a attracted 100 entrants. The number is already double that early on in Day 1b with 200 entrants registered.
In addition, the tournament attracted 195 entrants via online Day 1s bringing the total number thus far in the tournament up to 495 entrants.
The tournament is well underway now with more players registering all the time with late registration open until after the dinner break at 7pm.
As well as the Main Event Day 1c kicking off later today at 7:30pm there will be a €65 + €15 nightly turbo at 9pm and cash tables will open up when the demand is there (shortly we'll warrant).
The Gleneagle also boasts a bar serving pub grub as well as a fine dining restaurant.
For the players, there is an exclusive players lounge with a pool table and various games on offer.
What's not to love?
Alan Campbell was one of the players to bag chips yesterday. We saw him in the field today and he shared that, "I feel I bagged too short of a stack, so will give it another shot today."
Campbell is guaranteed to start Day 2 with at least the 64,500 chips he bagged yesterday. If he finishes in any of the other opening flights with a bigger stack, he will bring forth that stack to Day 2 instead.

Ali Zihni is a mainstay of the UK and Ireland poker scene with recorded tournament cashes going back to 2010. His enthusiasm and passion for the game remains undimmed as he is here bright and early for Day 1b.
An early pot saw Zihni on the button get to the river of a board reading against a player in the small blind.
Zihni faced a bet of 3,000 which he called.
His opponent showed and Zihni tabled .
Chop it up.

Ireland's Annette O'Carroll has almost $40,000 in tournament winnings according to the Hendon Mob. She will need to re-enter in order to have a chance to improve on that figure in the partypoker Grand Prix Killarney Main Event as she was the first player eliminated on Day 1b just before the end of Level 1.
