Rough Start for Lebedev

Level 23 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Sergey Lebedev raised to 1.1 million and Honglin Jiang three-bet to 3 million in the big blind, which Lebedev called. On the {Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop both players checked and Lebedev bet the {4-Clubs} turn for 3.5 million, Jiang called.

On the {K-Hearts} river, Lebedev shoved for 8.5 million effective and Jiang called with the {A-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Lebedev only had {K-Clubs}{10-Spades} and had to forfeit a big chunk of his stack. Lebedev then lost a three-bet pot against Stephen Chidwick and Sam Greenwood and lost more than half of his stack thus far.

Hecklen Doubles; Carriazo and Clark Bust

Level 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Henrik Hecklen jammed first to act for his last 3.275 million and Tomas Jozonis called in the big blind with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Hecklen only had {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, but found help on the board of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} to double.

Israel Oliver Carriazo was all in for just 2.8 million with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and Dominik Nitsche looked him up with the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The board of {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and that was it for the Spaniard.

Last but not least, Jonathan Clark three-bet shoved for 10 million out of the small blind and Davidi Kitai called on the button with the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Clark only had {6-Spades}{5-Spades} and the board came {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts} left the Brit drawing dead to a chop on the turn and the miracle quads on the board to keep Clark in contention never happened.

Hecklen Doubles; Vas Nunes Doesn't

Level 24 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Ramin Hajiyev
Ramin Hajiyev

Andrei Konopelko raised from early position and called the shove of Henrik Hecklen in the big blind for 7.4 million, tabling the {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Hecklen was well ahead with the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and the board came {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{A-Spades}.

Another Russian-speaking player is running much better in Ramin Hajiyev. The Azerbaijani raised from the button and called Paul Vas Nunes' check-shove in the big blind on the {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop.

Paul Vas Nunes: {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Ramin Hajiyev: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

The {2-Diamonds} turn and {2-Spades} river brought no help for Vas Nunes and he became the next casualty of the day.

The rise of Davidi Kitai continues as Julian Thomas has just become his next victim, bowing out in 47th place.

Thomas had started the hand with around 9.0 million and defended his big blind, then check-called a bet of Kitai for 1.25 million on the {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. Thomas check-shoved the {J-Spades} turn into Kitai's second barrel of 2.2 million and the Belgian called.
