PCA's Penultimate Day

We're back inside the Imperial Ballroom for the penultimate day of the 2010 PokerStars.net Caribbean Adventure!

Yesterday's play saw the field trimmed to the final 24 players, but that's still 16 too many to fit at one television table. This Day 5 figures to be an intense one as the field will be reduced down to the final eight, each with a shot at walking away with the inaugural NAPT title and $2.2 million in nonconsecutive unmarked bills.

Day 4 belonged to Ryan D'Angelo, oppressing his opponents with relentless aggression and working his stack up to a towering 7.483 million chips by night's end. That puts him more than 2 million chips in front of his nearest rival. There's still two full days of poker left to be played though, and perennial performers like John Duthie, Barry Shulman, and Robert Mizrachi will be doing their best to make things tough for D'Angelo.

We're about a half hour away from the scheduled starting time, and most of the room is eerily empty and devoid of activity. The only sounds are coming from the construction crew on the far end of the room as they assemble the final pieces of the EPTLive featured table arena. Soon enough, the final 24 will begin to trickle into their seats and unbag their chips for the push to the final table.

Sit tight; we'll be back with the shuffle up and deal.
