Day 1a Started
Welcome to the first day of the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event. Day 1a kicks off at noon and last year, 647 runners came out for the first starting flight. As it stands right now, there looks to be about 300 or so registered, which reflects all that has been affected this year in regards to online poker.
Last year's champion, Galen Hall, won't be playing today, but that's not because he's taking the day off to hit the beach. Hall is currently the chip leader going into the final table of the PCA $100,000 Super High Roller. He'll be in action tomorrow for Day 1b and there's still plenty of juice to be squeezed out of this orange.
Team PokerStars Pros Victor Ramdin, Angel Guillen and Pat Pezzin will be in the field as will Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Benny Spindler, Nicolas Chouity and Shane Schleger, amongst others.
The plan for the day is to play nine levels, with a dinner break coming after the sixth level. Each level is 60 minutes and there will be a 15-minute break after every two levels.
The players are getting into their seats and filling out the required paper work as the clock nears noon kickoff time. We'll have all the action right here on PokerNews, so be sure to stay tuned all day long!
