Boat Over Boat

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

We picked up the action with roughly 10,500 in the pot and a board reading {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen bet 7,500 from the hijack and Mohsin Charania raised to 24,000 from the button.

Hunichen debated what to do, but claimed he didn't think there was a way for him to fold. Eventually he made the call, and Charania tabled the {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for fours full of sixes. Hunichen then rolled over the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for fives full or fours.

"Maybe I should've shoved," Hunichen said.

"I'm not calling," was all Charania had to say.

One for Katz

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Cary Katz raised to 625 from the hijack and Jeff Gross, who just busted the Main Event in 68th place for $12,880, called from the cutoff. Keith Lehr came along from the small blind, as did Calvin Anderson in the big, and four players took a flop of {4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

Two checks saw Katz continue for 1,250, and one by one his opponents released their cards. Not much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their stacks.

Size Matters?

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

After a raise and three callers the action just folded to Charlie Carrel who three-bet from the small blind to 5,600. Former NFL star Richard Seymour was next to act from the big blind, and he found himself staring down Carrel for a solid minute before folding his hand.

As Seymour stared down Carrel, who's likely about the size of a three-course meal for the three-time Super Bowl winner, the young British pro stared right back at him. After Carrel's three-bet got through, giving him the pot uncontested, a funny back and forth started.

"That was intense, wasn't it?" Carrel smiled to Seymour.

Seymour cracked a smile and acknowledged the intensity, but we're pretty sure he's been in much more intense moments over his playing career.

"In the moment I completely forgot about my hand," Carrel said, "It made me realize my size."

Mike McDonald laughed, as Carrel is indeed about the half the size of Seymour.

Sointula's Surge Continues

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

"Nice start," a player at the table just said to a smiling Jani Sointula who knocked out Andy Philachack. The players at the table helped recap the action in a hand that went as follows.

Carlos Chadha raised to 800 and Sointula called after which Philachack three-bet to 2,200 and only Sointula called.

The flop brought out {5-Hearts}{K-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Sointula called a bet from Philachack, which he did as well on the {10-Clubs} turn. The river was the {Q-Clubs} and now Philachack checked, which lead Sointula to shove all in for about 23,000 effectively.

Philachack went into the tank for quite some time, but eventually he made the call to risk his tournament life.

Sointula showed {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and that sent Philachack to the rail holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.
