Gross Gets Talked into a Flush

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

Jeff Gross just eliminated his opponent after four diamonds hit the board and gave Gross a flush. Gross was about to fold before his opponent tried to guess what he held.

Gross raised in early position to 1,000 and his opponent shoved all in from the big blind. Gross was then faced with seemingly a tough decision. As he was deciding whether to call the 12,800 all-in bet.

"Do you have king jack?" he asked.

Gross looked at him and tilted his head slightly, "is that good?"

"I was going to fold, you may have just talked yourself into a double up or talked yourself into a bust."

Gross verified the total bet once more before calling. His opponent turned over {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Gross turned over {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

"I guess you talked yourself into a double up," said Gross.

The board had other plans when it ran out {3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, giving Gross a diamond flush and the bot.

Sammartino Tanks into Break

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

With the break clock already ticking, Dario Sammartino was embroiled in a tough river decision on a board of {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. He was in the cutoff facing an all-in wager from big blind Thomas Hueber, and the Italian high roller tanked a few minutes into the break, counted out the necessary chips, and placed him in the middle.

Hueber quickly flipped {j-}{j-} and Sammartino mucked and headed to break.

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

From the hijack seat, Justin Bonomo raised all in for 1,850. Kunal Patel called on the button, and Marcos Rogerio De Siqueira called from the small blind.

"No remember, dealer," said Bonomo, who was getting a massage and began pointing to the masseuse. "If I win, she makes more money, so no pressure."

Rogerio De Siqueira and Patel then checked down the {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} board to get to a showdown, and Bonomo turned over the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. His hand was good against the {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} of Rogerio De Siqueira and {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for Patel, and Bonomo tripled up.
