Lyubovetskiy Eliminated by Maurer after a Brutal River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Koray Aldemir opened with a raise to 23,000 from early position and he was called by Andriy Lyubovetskiy in the cutoff seat. Florian Maurer was in the big blind and he three-bet, making it 80,000. Aldemir quickly released, but Lyubovetskiy dropped into the tank. Eventually, he decided to move all in for a total of 431,000. It was Maurer's turn to take a dip in the tank and he thought for a couple of minutes before deciding to call.

Maurer: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Lyubovetskiy: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} was good for Lyubovetskiy as it provided Maurer with no additional outs, and he remained in the lead on the {4-Spades} turn as well. But, just as it did for Barry Greenstein yesterday, the {8-Clubs} dropped on the river, taking Lyubovetskiy from a massive favorite to out of the tournament with the turn of a card. With Lyubovetskiy's elimination, the final 24 players are now on a break as they wait for a redraw.

Red Wedding for Start-of-the-Day Chipleader Stark

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Karl Stark
Karl Stark

Liv Boeree opened with a raise to 23,000 from under the gun. Action folded around to the cutoff where Karl Stark called from the cutoff. Koray Aldemir was in the small blind and he raised to 100,000. The big blind and Boeree quickly folded putting the action back on Stark. Stark thought for a bit before moving all in for 762,000 chips. Aldemir sighed and called.

Aldemir: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Stark: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Stark was in the lead and he held on through the {J-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop. Aldemir did pick up a few extra outs on the {Q-Hearts} turn. But it was the {K-Clubs} that came on the river, turning the tables on Stark and giving the former chip leader a swift exit from the tournament. Aldemir takes down the massive pot and vaults into the chip lead with over 150 big blinds.

Mateos Doubles Up Again, This Time Through Stark

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Karl Stark opened from the cutoff with a raise to 24,000. Adrian Mateos was on the button, and he decided to reraise making it 63,000. Action folded back to Stark who moved all in with a covering stack and Mateos called off the rest of his stack for 235,000.

Mateos: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Stark: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The board came out clean for Mateos when it fell {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Mateos doubled up to nearly 500,000 while Stark dropped a big chunk of his stack, falling under 1 million chips.

Stemmler Eliminated by Lyubovetski

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jason Stemmler shoved all in for 43,000 over an opening cutoff raise from Andriy Lyubovetskiy. Lyubovetskiy made the call and it was off to showdown.

Stemmler: {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Lyubovetskiy: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The flop gives Stemmler a bit of hope when it comes down {K-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} giving him extra outs to a straight, but he can't find any of his outs on the {6-Spades} turn, nor on the {Q-Diamonds} river. Stemmler is eliminated and collects $28,800 for his finish in the Main Event.

Peters Up to 2 Million

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Uladzimir Anoshka opened the cutoff and big blind David Peters called. Peters check-called a bet of 30,000 on {6-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs} before they both checked the {4-Spades} on the turn. The {2-Hearts} completed the board and Peters bet 77,000. Anoshka called but mucked upon being shown {7-Hearts}{J-Hearts} by Peters.

Aldemir Gives Some Away to Lyubovetskiy

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Florian Maurer opens with a raise to 22,000. Action folds to the cutoff where Koray Aldemir makes it 58,000. In the blinds, Andriy Lyubovetskiy moves all in for 165,000. Maurer folds but Aldemir sighs and calls.

Aldemir: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Lyubovetskiy: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The board runs out {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{K-Spades} which doesn't give any help to Aldemir, and that earns Lyubovetskiy the double up, knocking Aldemir down a bit.

The Ladies Betray Kisacikoglu

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Adalfer Morales Gamarra opened for 38,000 from the button and Orpen Kisacikoglu responded by three-betting all in from the big blind for what looked to be 230,000. Gamarra opted to make the call.

Kisacikoglu: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Gamarra: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Kisacikoglu got it in good, but he fell way behind when the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop paired Gamarra.

Neither the {6-Clubs} turn nor {8-Diamonds} river helped Kisacikoglu, and he took his leave from the 2018 PCA Main Event in 27th place, good for $33,300.
