Greenwood Beats Martirosian in Showdown

Level 14 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised from under the gun to get called by Artur Martirosian in the big blind.

The {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop was checked by both and the {10-Spades} fell on the turn. Martirosian now bet 75,000 and Greenwood called.

That led them to the {8-Clubs} on the river and Martirosian bet another 55,000. Greenwood just called to get shown the {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} by the Russian, which he had beat holding {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a straight.

Orpen Kisacikoglu raised it up to 36,000 on the button and the action then reached David Yan in the big blind. The chip leader studied his opponent and the stack behind carefully before pushing all-in with seven seconds left on the shot clock.

Kisacikoglu instantly called and had the best of it heading into the following showdown.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
David Yan: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

There was no upset on the {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} runout as Kisacikoglu doubled for 445,000. Yan retains the lead but lost nearly 20% of his stack.

Greenwood Puts Pressure On Thorel

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

In a three-bet pot with just over 200,000 in the middle on a flop showing {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, Jean-Noel Thorel checked from the hijack to Sam Greenwood on the button who continued for 50,000. Thorel took a moment, but eventually made the call.

The turn came the {9-Diamonds} and Thorel checked a second time. Greenwood took some time before announcing a bet of 240,000 and Thorel quickly let his hand go.

Kaverman Gets Some Off Bonomo

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

In the last hand over on table two, Byron Kaverman raised it up and was called by Justin Bonomo in the big blind. The {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop saw Bonomo check-call for 35,000 and the {7-Clubs} turn was checked behind by Kaverman.

Bonomo then led the {2-Diamonds} river for 40,000 and Kaverman raised to 217,000 for most of his short stack to get an instant fold from his opponent.

Martirosian Rockets Up The Leaderboard; Yong Eliminated

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Rob Yong
Rob Yong

Christoph Vogelsang opened to 33,000 from under the gun and it folded to Rob Yong on the button who moved all in for 197,000 total. Artur Martirosian asked for a count in the big blind and then moved all in over the top for 1,100,000. Vogelsang took close to 30-seconds before showing {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and making the fold.

Rob Yong: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Artur Martirosian: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Vogelsang was kicking himself after seeing the hands and when the board ran out {k-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, the eights for Martirosian held up to eliminate Yong on the final table bubble.

Katz Has Lots of Outs; Misses Them All

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Artur Martirosian's cutoff raise was defended by Cary Katz in the big blind, which led them to the {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop. Katz elected to check-call a bet of 16,000 and then open-shoved the {7-Clubs} turn.

Martirosian asked for an exact count and made the call when it was deemed to be for 205,000.

Cary Katz: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Artur Martirosian: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The top pair of the Russian was ahead but Katz had plenty of outs with his gutshot and flush draw. However, the {k-Diamonds} river was not among them to reduce the field to the final 10 players.

One hand later, Martirosian raised and collected the blinds and big blind ante without resistance.

"Not a steal", he joked and exposed the {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. "A little steal," Chris Brewer added.

Bonomo Keeps Rising Further

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised and called a three-bet to 80,000 by Justin Bonomo in a duel hijack versus cutoff. The {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop brought a check from Greenwood, who then folded when Bonomo continued for 65,000.

Shortly after, Byron Kaverman raised it up to 34,000 on the button and Greenwood called in the big blind. The {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop resulted in a check-call by Greenwood for 26,000. Both checked the {j-Hearts} turn and a bet of Greenwood for 90,000 on the {7-Clubs} river shut down Kaverman's ambitions to win the pot.
