The G Wakes Up

Tony G looked a little tired when he sat down. He was spotted yawning a few times. He was unusually quiet during the first orbit. After he busted Lee Nelson and had a healthy stack, the G began his patented trash talking.

"Who's next?" he said daring the other eight players to take him on.

Lee Nelson Eliminated by Tony G

On the tenth hand of the tournament, a three-way pot developed with Tony G, Gary Benson, and Lee Nelson. The flop was {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Benson checked. Lee Nelson bet 700. Benson and Tony G called. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}. Benson checked. Nelson fired out 3,500. Tony G called and Benson folded. The river was the {Q-Diamonds}. Nelson bet 5,000. Tony G went into the tank before he announced a raise. He pushed out a stack of chips worth over 10,000. Nelson instantly raised all in. Tony G quickly called.

Tony G: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Nelson: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Tony G won the put with an Ace-high flush. Lee Nelson's set of 8s was no good and he headed to the rail in 10th place. The G increased his stack to 41,000.

Tony G Wins His First Pot

Tony G battled with David Saab and took down a pot with A-10. The G has been a little quiet to start. He flew into Melbourne earlier today after a 30-hour flight from Moscow via Dubai then Singapore. We presume that The G is conserving his energy.

Gary Benson Takes First Big Pot

Gary Benson opened with a 300 raise. Sam Khouiss and Emad Tahtouh called. The flop was 9-4-3. Benson fired out 1,300. Khouiss raised to 3,800. Tahtouh folded. Benson called. The turn was the {A-Hearts}. Both players checked. The river was the {4-Spades} and both players checked again. Khouiss tabled K-9 and Benson flipped over pocket tens. Benson dragged the pot.

Player Introductions

Jonno Pittock has started the player introductions. Each player is slowly being accompanied to the table by two models dressed up like boxers.

Billy the Croc was spotted wearing a fake head of Elvis hair and carried a stuffed crocodile with him.

Tony G got the loudest applause from the crowd.

Anticipation

A large crowd has gathered in the poker room of the Crown Casino. They are here to catch a glimpse of their favorite players who are participating in the inaugural PokerNews Australian Bad Boys of Poker Invitational. Since the start time was delayed for over an hour, the crowd has grown a little restless. They're eagerly awaiting for the tournament to start.

The players are also very anxious to play. With a first place prize of $50,000 at stake, they want to get to their seats and start the action, along with a little trash talking. Billy the Croc has been seen lurking around with a bag of props, including a toy crocodile.
