Bakalov Backs Off

A series of small disasters has left Vladislav Bakalov on just 13,000.

First he flat-called a 2,800 from Mark Vos but then passed when Bessi Bessy, who'd also called the raise from the big blind, open-shoved the {5-Spades}

flop, taking down the pot uncontested.

The next hand Bakalov raised to 3,000 from the cutoff, but again passed when Salvatore Cundari reraised all in to cover him from the button. Bakalov looks most unhappy.

Before he'd had time to bask in the glory of his last scalp, Simon Kullenberg was tasting victory just a hand or two later, this time with Jurgen Haidinger as the unfortunate recipient.

In what was a swift battle of the blinds confrontation, Haidinger (big blind) was looking good for a double through with {A-Diamonds}

, but the Poker gods disagreed and duly planted a third seven on the flop of a {7-Spades}

board.

Trying to stop Kullenberg at the moment would be like trying to halt a herd of elephants with a pea shooter.

Perhaps something snapped in the good judgment part of Wolfgang Van Breukelen's brain, or possibly he just thought he was ahead given Guoga's record today, but either way he reraised all in for around 8,000 total.
