Action In The Gowen-Pearson Game

Pearson vs Gowen is still going
Pearson vs Gowen is still going
We've had a rush of action in the Clonie Gowen vs Matthew Pearson second round match.

First Gowen got {A-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} all in against Pearson's {A-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} preflop. The board ran out {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts} to double Clonie into the lead.

With the stacks fairly even they found the chips in the middle again, a short time later. Gowen had {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and would need some help against Pearson's {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

It arrived on a {A-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop and now it would be Pearson who would need the help to stay alive. The {7-Diamonds} turn didn't help, but the {j-Clubs} arrived on the river to keep the match alive and leave Gowen with just 800.

Gowen was expected to hit the felt, but has virtually battled her way back to even. She doubled back through when he {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} held up against Pearson's {j-?}{8-?}.

In summary the second round match is still going.
