In two hours from now at 5 p.m. local time, the second of four starting days of the €225+€25 PokerNews Cup Main Event gets underway at the King's Casino in Rozvadov. Europe's biggest card room witnessed yesterday's flight with 156 entries, putting the end on track to reach the guaranteed prize pool of €200,000. Germany's Ronny Voth emerged as the chip leader with 391,000 and that is the number to beat for today.
A €35+€5 Turbo Satellite just started with more than 60 entries and at least 10 seats are up for grabs. Late registration and reentry for Day 1b of the Main Event remains open until the end of level 11 and 14 levels of 30 minutes each will be played before bagging and tagging takes place at approximately 1 a.m. local time.
Two further starting days remain on Saturday and all those that bust today can reenter the competition again tomorrow. For all Omaha fans there is a €100+€10 Pot-Limit Omaha Event with single rebuy or add on scheduled as of 7 p.m. local time, followed by the €90+€10 Ticket & Ca$h with €10,000 in cash prizes and 15 Main Event tickets one hour later.
The PokerNews Cup Main Event then continues with Day 2 at 1 p.m. on Sunday and will play down to a winner on Monday with live stream and commentary. available. The PokerNews live reporting team will be there to bring you all the crucial action.
The €35+€5 Turbo Satellite drew 125 entries in total to generate 16 tickets for the Main Event, the 17th place finisher will receive €156. As of right now, 20 minutes prior to the start of Day 1b, there are 26 hopefuls remaining.

EDDY was already playing yesterday and got involved in a series of big pots with Alexander Rettenbacher and Richard Schaaser, resulting in his elimination. He just sat down with two opponents at his table and joked "do you guys want to go all in blind? You can start with 90,000 ... " but neither of them took advantage of it.

Anna Yamshchikova, Konstantin Kostyakov and Aleksei Ivanov all played yesterday on Day 1a but failed to bag up chips. They are back now, though, and try to build up a stack for Day 2.
The tournament screens indicate 93 entries half way through level one, another promising sign for a successful starting day.

Hans Falge limped in from the button and Patrick Wolff checked in the small blind, as did the big blind. All three players checked down the board of entirely and Wolff claimed the pot with for a rivered pair of kings.
The next hand, the hijack limped and Falge raised to 325. Konstantin Kostyakov called out of the big blind and the initial limper folded. On the flop, Falge bet 625 and Kostyakov called. Both then checked the turn before Kostyakov bet the river for 1,000. Falge called to see Kostyakov turn over for nines and fives. That ended up second best, as Falge had flopped the straight with .

Alain Riss, who played on Day 1a, and Reinhard Foidl have taken their seats in level one. Poland's Karol Radomski is also on the registration list already, but hasn't shown up thus far. The field has already grown to more than 100 entries, expect that number to climb further in teh hours to come.
