Last Break

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Players are off of their tables for the last break of the day. We'll be back in 15 minutes with more Day 1a updates.

Unlucky Adamov Busts Despite an Amazing Call

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Rumen Adamov was playing a pot against Dimitrios Dimitros and Dimitros three-bet preflop to 32,000 after Adamov's raise to 7,000 who called. The flop was {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Clubs}, Dimitros bet 12,000, Adamov check-raised to 50,000 and Dimitros called.

The {7-Spades} on the turn brought a check from Adamov and Dimitros announced all-in with around 140,000.

Adamov made a great call all-in on the turn with queens, while Dimitros was holding jacks!

The {j-Spades} in the river made Dimitros to yell "Yes"and the whole room gathered around his table. Adamov was really frustrated from the river but nothing he can do, except swallow it and move on.

Dimitros is up to 350,000 and he is the new chipleader of Day 1a!

Great Structure for Deepstack Poker

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The tournament has a great structure, since the players start with 100,000 chips and even after 8 levels the blinds are as low as 800/1,600.

This means that if you enter the tournament two levels before the end of the day you will still have in front of you more than 60 big blinds.

This level passed by without many big hands, as players are probably feeling that they are getting close to the end of Day 1a, which means that they will achieve the first goal of a live poker tournament, advancing in the second day of play.

Day 1a and each of the next starting flights will end at Level 10, while registration will remain open up to Level 12.

Down to 20 players

Level 7 : 700/1,400, 1,400 ante

The latest elimination is "POLY10" who was short-stacked and he called with ace-seven Dimitrios Dimitros' all in after he raised.

Dimitros was holding king-queen and a queen on the flop was enough to send "POLY10" to the rail.

No More Efthimiadis in the Field

Level 7 : 700/1,400, 1,400 ante

Georgios Efthimiadis was left very short before the last break and he didn't manage to come back.

In his last hand he shoved for 15,000 from the small blind and Dejan Stanev called from the big blind.

Efthimiadis: {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Stanev: {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The Greek player was already drawing dead from the turn, with the final board being {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and he is done for today.

Second Break

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The second break of the day just started and it is a dinner break with the players given 30 minutes before they return to the tables.

Seven-deuce is good?

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

David Reef is very aggressive in his new table after the merge, and so far he has the biggest stack in the field being the only player with more than 300,000 chips.

In the last hand we saw, Dimitrios Gkikoulis raised to 2,500 from under-the-gun, Damian Botsev called from the next seat and it folded all the way to Reef in the big blind, who decided to three-bet to 10,000.

His opponents both folded, with Botsev showing a pair of eights, while Reef said "i have a good hand". He opened in the middle of the table his seven-deuce off, which apparently is good enough to give him this pot...
