Day 1de of the $370 Opening Event is set to begin. Two flights will play today with 1d beginning at 11 a.m. and 1e beginning at 5 p.m. This is expected to be the largest day as far as entries of the starting flights.

Just like with the previous days, the plan is to play down until 8% of the starting field remains in each flight. It has taken 11-12 hours for that to happen in each flight. 12% of the field will be paid.

Levels will be 30 minutes in length. Breaks are every 4 levels and there is a dinner break for Flight D only. Registration will be open until the completion of level 11 in each flight. The surviving players will return for Day 2 on Sunday July 28 with the remaining players from all five starting flights.

Players competing today will be aiming to catch the marks set by Curtis Ehrgott and Richie Smith who are both lapping the field with stacks well above a million.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture all the action from Day 1de as well as $370 Large Stack Big Blind Ante (July 31-August 1) and $3,300 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Main Event, (August 2-5) later in the series.
