Chernigoff Sends One to The Rail

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Glenn Chernigoff
Glenn Chernigoff

Heads-up on a flop of {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} with about 3,000 already in the middle, the player in the big blind bet 1,500 and was raised to 3,200 by Glenn Chernigoff on the button. Undeterred, the big blind shoved for around 6,000 total and Chernigoff quickly called.

Big blind: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Glenn Chernigoff: {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Chernigoff had his opponent drawing to one out, which did not come in on the {2-Clubs} turn or {j-Spades} river and Chernigoff eliminated his opponent.

Chernigoff, who took 4th place in the 2020 Potomac Winter Poker Open Main Event, will be looking to make a deep run in today's event with his now above-average stack.

Lin up Early

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

The player on the button opened to 300 and was three-bet by the player in the small blind to 1,200. Jing Lin cold-called from the big blind and the original raiser folded.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the small blind continued for 1,400. Lin then raised to 3,000 and her opponent called.

The {4-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and Lin's opponent check-called a 5,000 bet from Lin.

Both players checked on the {5-Diamonds} river and Lin immediately tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for queens and fours. Her opponent couldn't beat it and mucked — awarding the pot to Lin.

Walker Claims an Early Casualty

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante
Sam Walker
Sam Walker

The player in the hijack was all-in preflop for about 7,000 against Sam Walker in the small blind.

Sam Walker: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Hijack: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Walker had the goods, and the {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} runout kept him best for the early knockout.

According to another player at the table, aces had been dealt to someone at the table for three consecutive hands, generating a lot of action and leading to the short stack's demise.
