After losing a chunk of his top-three stack to Brady Bullard in a preflop raising war, Brett Wells limped under the gun and called 27,000 from Sam Panzica. On the flop, Wells open-shoved for about 160,000 and was called immediately.

Mesgana Tesfaridet was all in from an early position when we arrived at her table, having been put at risk by Melinda Hettick, who woke up with in the blinds. Tesfaridet was drawing very thin with , and a board of meant she had naught but a missed straight draw.
Gerald Kahl had a raise to 40,000 in front of him from the small blind, after the player under the gun bet 18,000 on a flop. Kahl's opponent three-bet to 85,000, and Kahl put his stack in for about that amount.

At another table, Rodney Spriggs collected the remaining stack of Day 1a leader Terry Presley. Presley said he got it in with kings and was ran down by Spriggs' .
Rodney Spriggs limped in early and saw Eric Bunch raise to 16,000 on his left. Action folded to John Newcombe, who put his last 26,000 in. Spriggs made sure action wasn't reopened to Bunch before calling, and Bunch called as well. Spriggs bet 35,000 into the dry side pot on the flop, and Bunch shoved all in. Spriggs snapped it off.

Spriggs' set was locked in for the win after the turn, and a completed the board.
Apparently, the tournament format is using "round-for-round" instead of hand-for-hand though, so Newcombe will await any other eliminations during this round of hands to see if he chops the last payout with anyone.
Tour pro Michael Sanders made it 16,000 from middle position after someone raised to 6,000 under the gun. Matt Bond dropped in 40,000 or so from the small blind when it folded to him, and Sanders shoved all in and was snap-called.
