Level 19 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Paul Serrate

Action was heads-up with {8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} on the board and over 200,000 in the pot when Paul Serrate checked. Norberto Callixto bet 100,000 and Serrate called to see {7-Hearts} on the turn.

Serrate checked again and went deep into the tank when Callixto shoved with 720,000.

"I have a flush and an open-ended flush draw. It's just a matter of whether or not I want to gamble," Serrate said as he considered his options. "He's probably got pocket kings."

The clock was called by another player at the table and the tournament director came over to begin the countdown. Serrate called in the waning seconds and the cards were turned up.

Serrate had {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Callixto showed {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. The river was {7-Diamonds} and the diamond flush came through to give Serrate the giant pot.

Mogannam Bets Big on the Flop

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Megan Thomson limped in from under the gun and Samer Mogannam raised to 32,000 from late position. Kris Burchfield came along from the big blind and Thomson called to make it three-handed.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and both Burchfield and Thomson checked. Mogannam spent about a minute considering his options.

"Five-hundred thousand," Mogannam said.

Burchfield and Thomson tossed their cards in the muck without much hesitation. Mogannam showed {7-}{7-}.

"Do you call if I say four-hundred thousand there?" Mogannam asked.

"Maybe if you don't take a minute to bet," Burchfield said with a smile.

"You don't even have four-hundred thousand!" one of Mogannam's tablemates noticed.
