Limberis Clashes With Roisen

David Roisen raised to 1,200 from the button and Michael Limberis called from the small blind before Edward Mroczkowski came along from the big blind.

All three players checked the flop of 8♣6♣Q♣ and the turn was 4♦. Roisen and Mroczkowski checked again and Roisen fired 1,200. Limberis called and Mroczkowski got out of the way for a Q♠ river.

Both players checked the river and Limberis turned over J♦8♦ to take the pot with a pair of eights.

In the 821st episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz & Kyna England come to you from Level 9 Studios in Las Vegas to discuss the latest poker news, stories, and gossip. That includes the recent drama surrounding Tom "durrrr" Dwan, who recently talked to PokerNews in a 45-minute in-depth conversation about debt allegations recently leveled against him by Peter Jetten and Haralabos Voulgaris.

You can read everything Dwan had to say in our feature article here but suffice it to say he didn't give clear answers. Some say he spouted a word salad to most of the questions, and our crew took a look at some clips and offered their thoughts. We also asked Dwan point blank if he's ever been kidnapped by the Triads, an urban legend of sorts in the poker world.

Mike and Kyna then talked about their respective tournament successes since the last show, which led to a larger talk about women in poker and how the industry sometimes struggles to market to such a large segment of the population. From there, it was on to a discussion about the recent uptick of poker-related names venturing into the reality TV space including Boston Rob Mariano, Brantzen Poker, and Athena Jett.

Finally, the crew touched on Kevin Martin's 24/7 stream while attempting to win $5,000 playing online and close it out by offering their thoughts on the often-critical Allen Kessler.

Winter Splits One; Martinez Emerges as Chip Leader

Action was heads up with 4♣2♣7♥ on the flop and 4,000 in the middle when Halley Lewis bet 800 and Brian Winter check-raised to 3,000. Lewis called and the turn was 3♦.

Winter check-called a 2,500 bet on the turn and the river was 5♠. Winter checked again and called when Lewis tossed out 5,000. Lewis turned over A♠5♦.

"Counterfeit," he said.

Winter turned over A♥J♣ and they split the pot.

Meanwhile, Dimas Martinez Jr has emerged as the chip leader at the same table. Raymond Leone and Raminder Singh have also taken a seat.

RGPS POY Points Leader Takes a Seat

RGPS Player of the Year points leader Brian Winter has taken his seat in the Main Event — just hours after he won yet another ring in the $660 6-Max event.

Winter sits just shy of 2,000 points, while Shaun Emery is the only other competitor with more than 1,000 as the two continue to dominate the leader board heading into this week’s stop at bestbet Jacksonville.

How it works:

Leaderboard Points: Players will score points based on their performance in RunGood Poker Series events by the Global Poker Index ranking system.
Five Winners: The tally started on August 29th, 2023, and end June 1st, 2024. The top five players on the leaderboard will win a seat in the 2024 Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship and a $500 travel stipend.
Immortality: The top player will be featured forever on tour with a RunGood Player of the Year banner.
