Clark Gives One Up, Still Above 100K

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Scotter Clark
Scotter Clark

Scotter Clark announced a raise and tossed out 3,500 from middle position. Sandra Main was the only caller from the big blind and the flop was J5Q.

Main shoved quickly after the flop and Clark gave it a moment of thought before he slid his cards into the muck.

Clark is coming off of a run to third place in the most recent RGPS Main Event for $43,514, held last week in St. Louis.

Elsewhere in the room, Brian Winter was seen leaving the tournament area after a few attempts to spin up his short stack.

Winter Storms Through Tulsa

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Brian Winter
Brian Winter

Brian Winter is on a tear in Tulsa after he won two rings on Friday, the sixth and seventh of his career — and the fifth in the last three months.

Winter won the Flip 'n' Go ring event in heads-up play against PokerNews' own Liam Gannon before he jumped into the Pot Limit Omaha ring event with just moments left in registration. He went on to win that tournament and claim his second ring of the afternoon while extending the lead at the top of the RGPS Player of the Year leaderboard.

Birney Holds With Sixes for Over A Double

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tony Birney limped from under the gun as did players in both middle and late position. The player in the cutoff opted to put an end to the limping with a raise to 4,000.

Birney called as did both the middle position and late position players, leading to a 373 flop.

Action checked to the cutoff who continued with a bet of 7,000. Birney jammed for about 17,000 total, getting folds from the middle and late position players and a call from the cutoff, setting up a runout with Birney at risk.

Tony Birney: 66
Cutoff: J10

The turn and river came the 2 and 7, securing a good bit more than a double for Birney as the dealer turned his opponet';s cards facedown and slid them into the muck.
