Pat Tighe
Pat Tighe

Pat Tighe is challenging for the lead now on 120,000 and counting.

His big move came when he turned a flush with the {10-Spades}{2-Spades}. He won a 45,000-chip pot betting 20,000 on a {j-} board-pairing river and getting the call from a player claiming three jacks with an ace kicker.

Seneca Niagara hero Jerry Calvaneso caught top local rounder Nick Walker on a bluff early, then got it in with a straight against another player's straight draw to move up and over 80,000.

He's now stacked headed into the last hour and change of play and looking to bag big.

Tony Dojka
Tony Dojka

Tonawanda NY's Tony Dojka has crested the 100,000-chip mark headed into Level 11.

He sent John Stempien packing when he found a full house on the river against him, then a second full house helped him bust a third player with two pair.

Don't feel too bad for Stempien, however, he fired again and has that bullet up to 70,000 now.

Treutlein Triumphs in Sabres Ticket Draw

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Buffalo Sabres
Buffalo Sabres

Scott Treutlein is winning everything tonight.

To no one's surprise, he became the fourth of five winners in the completely legitimate and totally random nightly draw for a pair of Buffalo Sabres tickets to be heavily featured in the PokerNews coverage here at the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic.

Each night the tournament staff here at the Niagara Falls Poker Room is collecting up PokerNews ID cards from the players and entering them in a draw for one of ten pairs of Buffalo Sabres tickets. Players will get one entry for every bullet they fire.

Tonight Treutlein's name was drawn and as he enjoys the chip lead here, he'll also be making plans to see the Sabres courtesy of the Niagara Falls Poker Room.

Scott Treutlein has vaulted into the overall lead heading deep into the second half of the day with 120,000 chips already.

He three-bet jacks and got one caller who was willing to go all in on an {a-}{k-}{j-} flop with just {a-}{2-}. That was just fine with Treutlein, as his set held to see him crest 100,000 faster than any player has in any of the three previous flights.

In the meantime, Silvio DeRubeis dusted off his early advantage and ended up bricking all in with {a-}{q-} versus pocket jacks to go broke.

With registration and re-entry closed, this fourth of six 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic $100 No-Limit Hold'em Day 1 flights drew 90 entries.

That brings the total entries up to 303 with two flights to come. In order to meet the $50,000 prize pool guarantee, the event needs to draw a total of 625 entries.

That means they will need to draw another 322 entries to get there through Wednesday's 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. flights— An average of 161 per flight.

Wednesday's night flight is expected to be the biggest yet, but it appears the Niagara Falls Poker Room will need it to be to avoid the dreaded overlay.
