Zaenglein Doubles Through Leonardi

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Carol Leonardi opened to 1,600 under the gun and called a three-bet worth 4,700 from Rob Zaenglein in middle position. An {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop fanned out and Leonardi checked.

Zaenglein bet 5,000 only to see Leonardi shove all in having him covered. Zaenglein would snap-call to put himself at risk.

Carol Leonardi: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Rob Zaenglein: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Zaenglein raked in the double up.

Largest Summer Slam High Roller on Record

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

With 88 entries through the first six levels, the 2018 Summer Slam High Roller is the largest ever. There is still almost three full levels of late registration and re-entry open as well.

The inaugural SS High Roller played out in 2016 receiving 83 total entries. The 2017 running missed that mark by one ending with 82.

Crystal Turns a Straight

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

There were five players in a hand that saw 8,000 reach the pot before the turn card fell on a {2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} board. Mike Crystal was in the small blind and bet 6,000 which was called by Patrick Tighe in middle position and the player on the button.

The {q-Hearts} completed the board and Crystal fired 6,000 again. Tighe folded but the player on the button made the call. Crystal tabled the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a straight and his opponent mucked.

Gigl Spikes River Queen to Bust One

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

We didn't catch the details but a gasp from the table directed the attention of the room to Mike Gigl who had stood up with his hands on his head. Gigl had an opponent at risk on the flop but was behind with pocket queens to a flopped set of sevens.

A queen peeled off on the river and Gigl sent his opponent to the rail and raked in a pot to put himself over 300,000.
