Stepuchin Livens up the Place

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Frank Stepuchin
Frank Stepuchin

Frank Stepuchin is in the mix at the Main Event. He showed up with a football and a brew in hand.

"Can you throw that football over the mountains?" asked someone from a nearby table.

"What's the over/under on this guy getting DQ'ed from too many penalties?" asked James Calderaro.

Stepuchin was obviously worried about getting too many penalties, so he decided to tape his mouth shut for his own best interest.

Stepuchin has livened up the area and will try to run up a stack while he brings smiles to those around him.

Tran Turns Stone Into Dust

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tony Tran
Tony Tran

Action picks up on the turn with a board showing {6-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Stone had position and had bet 12,000 into a pot of about 28,000. Her opponent, Tony Tran, put in the min-check-raise to 24,000. After some thought, Stone made the call, leaving herself about 24,000 behind.

The {a-Clubs} hit the river and Tran moved all in quickly by placing a large stack of 5,000 value chips across the line. Stone started talking to herself.

"It's so stupid. I didn't realize how few chips I had and now I've hit my hand."

No snap call is good. Can I guess her hand without getting in trouble?" asked Tran.

"I don't know," said the dealer.

"I guess I'll just shut up then," Tran laughed.

After some deliberation, Stone did indeed put in the call. Tran showed the {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for flopped trips. Stone accidentally threw her cards into the muck before revealing them as required.

"I have to flip them," and the dealer attempted to retrieve them from the muck. He pulled out the {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

"That wasn't them," said Stone before she exited the area.

"Just report that hand as Ace-King," said the table.

Michael on Michael Battle as Jozoff Takes a Stand

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Michael Jozoff
Michael Jozoff

Action picked up on the turn in a heads-up pot when Michael Jozoff had bet 7,000 from middle position. The board read {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Michael Jagroo put in the check-raise from the small blind to 23,000.

Jozoff thought for about a minute before deciding to go with his hand. He raised all in to 46,600. Jagroo called quickly.

Jagroo tabled the {8-Spades}{10-Spades} for the combo draw and Jozoff showed his {q-}{10-} for top pair.

Jagroo bricked the river when the {2-Diamonds} hit.

"I would have folded, nice call," said a tablemate as Jozoff stacked chips.

Everyone Loves a Chopped Pot

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Jay Nguyen
Jay Nguyen

Charles Wardlaw raised in late position to 1,700 and found two callers, including Jay Nguyen in the big blind.

The flop showed the {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and action checked through. Action also checked around on the {5-Spades} turn.

On the river, action checked to the preflop raiser Wardlaw, who bet 1,500. Nguyen thought for a bit and made the call.

"Ace is good," said Wardlaw. Nguyen didn't have an ace, but he rolled over the {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. "Oh, you have the board?" Wardlaw asked. "I play the board too," and Wardlaw showed {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the chop.

"That's when you're supposed to make it 3,000', said another tablemate.

"I don't think I'd raise with an ace," said Nguyen, content to take half the pot.

David Mzareulov Isolates and Eliminated

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
David Mzareulov
David Mzareulov

David Mzareulov opened to 2,000 from middle position. He found two callers, the hijack and the button before it got to Armando Guerr in the big blind.

Guerr decided to go all in for 9,000. Back to Mzareulov who shoved over the top for about 30,000. Both players in between folded.

The {a-}{a-}{3-} flop didn't change much for either player, though both players who folded claimed they would have won the pot. The {2-} turn and {6-} river gave Mzareulov the win and busted Guerr.
