Salazar Starts Final Table Hot

Level 26 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Aden Salazar
Aden Salazar

Aden Salazar raised to 240,000 in late position and Eric Afriat defended his big blind.

The flop brought the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Afriat checked to Salazar who put out a bet of 275,000. Afriat quickly called.

The turn saw the {j-Hearts} fall. Afriat checked again and this time Salazar ramped up the pressure with a bet of 1,200,000. Again, Afriat check-called.

A blossoming pot ended with the {6-Clubs} river. Once more, Afriat checked. After thinking about 45 seconds, Salazar increased the size from his last bet slightly to 1,500,000. Afriat folded rather quickly.

"You got the max," said Afriat as Salazar took down the first hand of the final table.

Michael Wang Eliminated in 10th Place ($10,591)

Level 25 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

Michael Wang shoved all in preflop for 1,405,000, about 12 big blinds. He found a call from Alexis Meyer in late position and all other players folded.

Hands revealed, Wang showed {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} which was up against the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} of Meyer.

The flop came {7-}{j-}{10-} to give Meyer a gutshot to go with his two overs. Hoping to avoid any cards above a jack, Wang saw the {8-} hit the turn and then the dagger of a {q-} land on the river to send him home.

Adam Garcia Eliminated in 11th Place ($10,591)

Level 25 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Adam Garcia
Adam Garcia

Adam Garcia went all in preflop for less than six big blinds and found two calls from Eric Afriat and James Calderaro.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Both players with action pending checked.

Players also checked the {j-Diamonds} turn and {10-Spades} river.

Calderaro revealed his {j-Spades}{7-Spades} for trips and enough to eliminate Garcia, who had the {a-}{7-}.

Jose Montes Eliminated in 12th Place ($10,591)

Level 25 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Jose Montes
Jose Montes

James Calderaro opened from under the gun to 245,000 and Alexis Meyer called in the small blind. Jose Montes completed from the big blind and the {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop landed.

When action fell on Meyer, he bet 225,000 and Montes then pushed it all into the middle, totaling 1,425,000. Meyer hit the tank but in the end, he called.

Jose Montes: {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Alexis Meyer: {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Both had a cowboy but Meyer was in the lead with his dime-kicker. The {j-Diamonds} turn and {q-Hearts} river were of no help for Montes who took an exit in 12th place.

Damion Richardson Eliminated in 13th Place ($8,321)

Level 25 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Damion Richardson
Damion Richardson

It took just two hands for Damion Richardson to visit the payout desk. In the first hand, Adam Garcia pushed for a total of 380,000 and Damion Richardson was the only caller.

Adam Garcia: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Damion Richardson: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop was clean but a dirty-looking {5-Hearts} then landed on the turn, giving Garcia a boat. The {7-Spades} river cemented it for Garcia for a double.

On the next hand, Richardson jammed 430,000 and Eric Afriat called, putting Richardson at risk.

Damion Richardson: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Eric Afriat: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

An uneventful {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} board fell and Richardson was eliminated by the ace-king of Afriat.

David Mzareulov Eliminated in 14th Place ($8,321)

Level 25 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
David Mzareulov
David Mzareulov

After recently losing a big portion of his stack, David Mzareulov found himself all in with less than five big blinds. He found two callers in James Calderaro and Damion Richardson.

With action still pending on the side, the flop came {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Both Calderaro and Richardson checked the flop.

The {10-Spades} hit the turn. This time Richardson bet 200,000 in position. Calderaro called.

The river brought the {8-Diamonds} and both players now checked.

"Ace high," said Richardson. Celderaro rolled over his {10-}{j-}. Mzareulov showed that his {6-Hearts}{7-Spades} couldn't improve and was eliminated.

"Quite the protection you tried to give him there," commented Calderaro as he scooped the pot.

Johnathan Morrell Eliminated in 15th Place ($8,321)

Level 24 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Johnathan Morrell
Johnathan Morrell

After running his stack of 15,000 up to 270,000, Johnathan Morrell found himself in the big blind.

David Mzareulov went all in for the 270,000 effective and Morrell called immediately.

Mzareulov showed {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Morrell found the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} to try and continue the miraculous comeback.

It wasn't meant to be, though, as the board came out {6-}{9-}{6-}{4-}{5-} and ended the day for Morrell.

Felix Weis Eliminated in 16th Place ($7,338)

Level 24 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Felix Weis
Felix Weis

The action fell on Felix Weis in the hijack and he shoved his stack of around 620,000 into the middle. Kristen Foxen called on the button and the rest of the table ducked out.

Felix Weis: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}
Kristen Foxen: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The dealer spread {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} on the flop, hitting Weis with a pair of hockey sticks and he had a chance to survive if he could pull some magic.

The burned and turned {a-Clubs} instantly hit the felt. Foxen then had Weis drawing dead to the {2-Clubs} river, eliminating him in 16th place.

Rudy Cadenas Eliminated in 17th Place ($7,338)

Rudy Cadenas
Rudy Cadenas

Action folded to Rudy Cadenas on the button who went all in for 1,100,000.

His opponent, James Calderaro, thought long in the big blind before making the call.

Cards on their backs, Cadenas held the {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, but Calderaro had him dominated with the {10-Spades}{j-Spades}.

The flop came ten-high, leaving Cadenas with next-to-no hope of finding a way to win, and he was eliminated.

Thanh Bui Eliminated in 18th Place ($7,338), Foxen Finds Dream Spot

Level 23 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Thanh Bui
Thanh Bui

Thanh Bui opened to 200,000 from early position. He immediately found a caller in Collin Ball on his direct left. Action ramped up, though, when Kristen Foxen raised to about 2,000,000 from the cutoff.

She would find plenty of action. Both Bui and Ball made the call. To their dismay, though, that wasn't all they had in common this hand. Ball had the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Bui had the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. To make matters worse, Foxen had the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. She had Bui covered but couldn't quite say the same about Ball.

Ball and Bui were looking for some miracle since neither would be making a set. The board offered no such magic as the {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Hearts} showed Bui the payout line and left Ball with a short stack.
