Jeremy Whalen
Jeremy Whalen

Johnathan Morrell opened to 175,000 and Jeremy Whalen then three-bet shoved 590,000. Morrell called and the players turned them over.

Jeremy Whalen: {j-Spades}{4-Spades}
Johnathan Morrell: {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The board came down {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Morrell won the hand with a boat. Whalen took an exit, leaving just two tables in this event.

Sung Kim Eliminated in 20th Place ($6,127)

Level 23 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Eric Afriat
Eric Afriat

Sung Kim was first to act and shoved 985,000 from under the gun. In the cutoff was Eric Afriat who decided to call and then James Calderaro made it really interesting when he pushed over the top from the big blind. Afriat snap-called for 1,030,000 more than Kim had and the three turned the over.

Sung Kim: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Eric Afriat: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
James Calderaro: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

"I know a queen is coming!" said Calderaro, and Afriat replied "This one is meant to be for me," with a smile.

The dealer fanned out {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Afriat appeared to be right. A {9-Clubs} turn left just one out from Afriat scooping and the {4-Spades} was not it. Afriat took down the entire pot, eliminating Kim from the event.

John Compton Eliminated in 23rd Place ($5,144)

Level 22 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
John Compton
John Compton

Upon arrival, the action was on fourth street between John Compton and Collin Ball. There was roughly 500,000 in the pot when Ball threw in a light bet, having {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} on the board.

Compton check-jammed for more than the pot and Ball obliged. Compton turned over {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for just ace-high and was behind the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} of Ball.

The river came a {3-Diamonds} and Ball pulled in all the chips, dropping Compton from the field.

Vy Nguyen
Vy Nguyen

Vy Nguyen pushed all in preflop for about seven big blinds and was called by Evan Burrow who had slightly more than him and put Nguyen at risk.

Nguyen had the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Burrow had the {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for two overs. The flop came clean for Nguyen who couldn't look at the board. As the turn fell the {a-Diamonds}, he asked the man next to him. "How'd I do? Did I win?" as he hadn't yet brought himself to look.

His neighbor shook his head no. "Got you on the turn."

The river was no help and Nguyen was eliminated in 25th place.

Level 21 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jonathon Castellano
Jonathon Castellano

The action fell on Jonathon Castellanos in the cutoff position and he moved it all into the middle for a total of 500,000. Johnathan Morrell took some time to make a decision in the big blind but in the end, he threw in a chip to call and Castellanos was at risk.

Jonathon Castellanos: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Johnathan Morrell: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Ladies were in full swing at the final three tables but Castellanos was not as fortunate as Aden Salazar who just knocked out Michael Rossitto with them.

Morrell took a commanding lead on the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop and Castellanos was eliminated after the {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} hit the board, falling in 26th place.

Aden Salazar opened and on his direct left was Michael Rossitto who shoved for around 1.5 million. Salazar called and the cards were turned over.

Michael Rossitto: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Aden Salazar: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The flop was an instant killer when {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} hit the felt, giving Salazar a set of ladies. A turned {9-Clubs} proved that it is always a sweat but an {8-Spades} missed the flush draw of Rossitto and Salazar pulled in the pot.

Collin Ball opened from the hijack before Tony Tran decided to go all in for about 8 big blinds on the button.

It got back around to Ball who called and flipped up {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}. "You deserve this one," he told his opponent.

Tran flipped over {a-Spades}{9-Spades} and was looking for an ace to stay alive.

The board gave him a pair of nines but no more, and Tran was eliminated in 28th place.

Level 21 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Eric Afriat
Eric Afriat

Action picks up on the turn with a pot of about 450,000. The board showed {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Eric Afriat checked over to Sung Kim who bet 160,000 in position. Afriat called.

The turn brought the {8-Diamonds}, putting a four-liner on the board and action went check-check.

The river fell the {q-Clubs} and Afriat now led into Kim to the tune of 250,000. Kim shook his head but ultimately put the chips in the pot.

Afriat turned over the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the straight to the king and Kim mucked.

Salazar Sinks Whittington and Soars as a Leader

Level 21 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Aden Salazar
Aden Salazar

Blake Whittington shoved about ten big blinds from middle position. Aden Salazar shoved over the top with a massive stack and the table covered.

James Calderaro considered committing his stack as well from the big blind. Ultimately, he decided to fold and let the other two battle it out.

Whittington showed {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} while Salazar flipped {a-}{j-}.

"No!" exclaimed Calderaro when he saw what he would have been up against.

The board came out ace-high and Salazar added even more chips to his stack. "Ace queen?" asked Salazar. But Calderaro didn't share what caused his pain.
