Vang Gets Value

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Kou Vang bet 7,300 after a player in the big blind checked to him on the end.

"So sick," the player kept muttering, staring alternately at the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board and his opponent.

Finally, he tossed in a call. Vang showed {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a set, and the big blind tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a worthless top pair.

Romer Shoves the Turn

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
"Wild" Bill Romer was waiting for someone to bet.
"Wild" Bill Romer was waiting for someone to bet.

"Wild" Bill Romer opened for 525 from early position, and Michael Horchoff three-bet to 1,200 on the button. Kenny Milam made the call out of the big blind, and Romer came along as well.

Everyone checked the {10-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, but those checks may have been deceptive because action sprang to life on the turn after two more checks. Horchoff bet 2,600, Milam called, and Romer shoved for just under 10,000. Horchoff quickly folded, but Milam took a bit of thinking time before laying his hand down as well.

Morris Snaps with Set

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Three players put in 2,700 after a flop of {5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}, and everybody checked the {a-Diamonds} turn. When a {k-Clubs} completed the board, the player in the small blind bet 12,000. One player quickly folded, but Lynn Morris called off his stack just as quickly.

Morris: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Small blind: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The small blind had played his set slow on the turn, and Morris had spiked a better set on the river to take the pot and more than double up.

Nick Jivkov flopped a set at a bad time.

According to Gene Dudek, he just coolered Nick Jivkov when they got all in with sets of kings and deuces, respectively. Dudek had his opponent covered, and he collected Jivkov's stack.

Benton Spikes Out to Bust Two

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Michael Benton got lucky on the river.
Michael Benton got lucky on the river.

We found a huge pot brewing between three players in a recent hand.

After two checks, the hijack bet 3,500 on a board of {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Michael Benton called in the big blind, and Isidro Sifuentes made it 13,000. The hijack jammed for 14,725, and Benton shoved over that for more than 30,000. Sifuentes called off his stack with no hesitation.

"You have the nuts?" Benton asked him. He didn't, but he did have the lead.

Sifuentes: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Benton: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Hijack: {q-}{q-}

The player in the hijack was drawing dead, but Benton could still win the pot if the board paired. The river brought the {4-Spades}, and Benton celebrated while the dealer counted out stacks. Sifuentes was covered, so Benton took both players' stacks.
