Welcome to Day 1b of Mid-States Poker Tour Canterbury Park

Blake Bohn fired twice on Day 1a. Will he be back for Day 1b?

After 14 levels of action, 45 players bagged up from Day 1a of Mid-States Poker Tour Canterbury Park last night. We'll soon find out who will join them from Day 1b, as action is set to kick off for the final Day 1 of the MSPT season.

Last night, Rodney Colson bagged a very impressive 385,500, good for a wide lead over second-place Nick Pupillo's 235,500. Others making it through the grind included Judd Greenagel (183,000), James Wilson (173,000), Kou Vang (163,500), "Minnesota" Jon Hanner (80,500), Adam Dahlin (75,500), Aaron Johnson (73,000), Everett Carlton (71,500), and MSPT team pro Matt Alexander (62,000).

Many did not make it and will need to fire more bullets on Day 1b, including Blake Bohn, Matt Kirby, Jeff Fielder, Lance Harris, Brandon Meyers, Mark Sandness, and Mike Schneider. Defending champ Mike Wilmes will also need to reload if he hopes to go back-to-back.

Cards will be in the air at 4 p.m. local time here in Shakopee, Minn. Once again, the Allen Kessler-approved structure will be in use, starting with blinds of 50/100 and stacks of 20,000. Levels will last 40 minutes each, with breaks given every three levels. Each player is allowed to reenter once should they go bust. At the end of Level 9, reentries will be cut off, and players are scheduled to bag at the end of Level 14.

Steve Lillehaug

Steve Lillehaug bet 1,500 from the small blind on a board of {5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} against Tyler Caspers, who made the call from the hijack. On the {10-Clubs} river, Lillehaug checked, and Caspers bet 2,250. Lillehaug raised to 6,000, and Caspers quickly called.

Lillehaug showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a set on the river.

"Wow," Caspers whispered before mucking his hand.

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a board of {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Spades}, a player in the big blind bet 4,500. Robert O'Connell thought for a bit and tossed out 9,000, and his opponent called. O'Connell showed {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a turned boat, and his opponent had gotten unlucky with {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} after flopping a straight.
