Zarlenga Sends One Home

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Jason Zarlenga
Jason Zarlenga

Jason Zarlenga has steadily been riding a decent stack most of the day and just three bet preflop to isolate from middle position. Zarlenga took down his heads-up opponent with a strong {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} holding as the inferior {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds} failed to catch up.

Zarlenga just may be poised to make another deep run here at FireKeepers.

Maniaci Takes a Big One

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Steve Maniaci opened from early position and was met with a three-bet to 5,600 from his neighbor. Action folded back to Maniaci and he four-bet to 27,600. His opponent called and the flop came {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Maniaci slid out enough chips to put his opponent all in. After much consternation, his opponent folded and Maniaci was awarded the pot.

Friedman and Dudley Clash

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dash Dudley raised to 3,300 from the cutoff and Adam Friedman made the call from the big blind. The flop was {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {4-Spades} and Friedman led for 3,600. Dudley called and the river was the {7-Hearts}. Friedman bet 7,700 and Dudley thought for a moment before eventually making the call.

Friedman turned over {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for trip fours and Dudley pushed his cards toward the muck.

Dudley Crippled

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dash Dudley's stack has been dwindling over the last couple of levels and he open-shoved all in from the hijack for 17,800 and Darren Rice called for less from the button. Rod Derrow thought for a moment in the big blind but eventually folded.

Dudley: {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Rice: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Dudley was crippled. A short time later, Dudley and Rice both made their exits, losing a three-way all in to Ryan Terpstra when his {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} held up against the {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} and {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} of Dudley and Rice respectively.

Uminn Flops Big

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Bill Uminn limped from middle position, as did the player in the cutoff. Steve Maniaci raised to 8,000 from the button and Uminn and the other opponent both called. The flop was {3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and action checked to Maniaci who continued for 11,500. Uminn moved all in for 28,700.

Maniaci did some math before reluctantly throwing out chips for the call. It was bad news though, as Maniaci could only hope for a chip with his {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} far trailing the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} of Uminn. The board completed {2-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Maniaci's stack took a hit.

Barill Rides Rollercoaster to Victory

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Alex Barill
Alex Barill

Alex Barill opened to 4,000 and was met with a three-bet all in for around 30,000. Barill made the call and tabled {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} versus the {a-Spades}{9-Spades} of his opponent. That is where the fun began.

The flop of {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades} gave Barill a set, but left his opponent drawing to the nut flush and an inside straight draw. The {4-Spades} on the turn completed the flush, but Barill found the fourth ten on the river and sent his opponent to the rail, vaulting him at or toward the chip lead.
