Blumberg Sent Home By Ozturk To Force Redraw

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jake Blumberg
Jake Blumberg

On the final hand of Level 19, Jake Blumberg went all in for 127,000 under the gun and Umut Ozturk announced a call from the hijack. All remaining players folded.

"I don't like that call," said Blumberg as he tabled his hand. He did have two live cards, however.

Jake Blumberg: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Umut Ozturk: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Unfortunately for Blumberg, the board came {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} leaving him unimproved to finish in 28th place. Players are now drawing for new seats and the tournament clock has been paused. Stay tuned for an updated seat draw.

Waalen Eliminates Izadpanah

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Brandon Waalen was in middle position and raised to 28,000. Everybody folded around to Babak Izadpanah in the big blind, who went all in for his last 80,000 or so. Waalen made the call and the two were off to the races.

Babak Izadpanah: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Brandon Waalen: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Waalen was out in front and saw the board run out safe for him, coming {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to eliminated Izadpanah in 30th place, leaving just two eliminations away from a redraw for the final three tables, when the tournament will revert to a traditional ante.

Johnson Puts a Hit on Pelton

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Aaron Johnson
Aaron Johnson

Chan Pelton opened to 85,000 in the hijack and received a call from Matt Dodd, who was on the button. Aaron Johnson was in the small blind and three-bet to 115,000. Pelton called and Dodd folded to take action heads up to the streets.

The flop dropped {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Spades} and Johnson checked. Pelton bet 85,000 and Johnson called, bringing the turn {5-Spades}. Both players checked.

The river came {q-Hearts} and Johnson checked once more. Pelton thought for a few moments and announced a bet of 145,000. Johnson then counted out 45,000 of his unfull stack of T5,000 chips and set them atop the rest of his stack of 244,000. He didn't think much longer about the 99,000 he would have left if he made the incorrect call and tossed out the 45,000 to signify the decision he had made.

"Two pair," said Pelton. Johnson immediately turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for kings and queens with an ace kicker. Chan tapped the felt and sent his cards to the muck, earning Johnson the pot to take him up to

Waalen Wins on River

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Brandon Waalen
Brandon Waalen

Chan Pelton saw action folded to him on the button and pumped it up to 26,000. He received calls from both Brandon Waalen in the small blind and Matt Dodd in the big blind.

The three saw a flop come of {7-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Waalen checked. Dodd fired out 38,000 and Pelton quickly folded to put action back on Waalen, who called.

Action was then heads up for the turn {5-Spades} and both players checked, bringing the river {8-Hearts} on board. Waalen fanned out a bet that the dealer regrouped and announced to be 50,000. Dodd thought for a few seconds and let his hand go, resulting in Waalen taking down the pot.
