Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The small thought for a while before calling for the addition 16,300 and cards were on their back.

Jason Darland: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Small blind: {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Cortum Plays for Stacks

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Rob Wazwaz had raised to 2,000 after an early position limp and picked up a caller before action was on Rob Wazwaz in the big blind. He decided to reraise to 11,000.

Action folded back to Cortum who moved all in for 22,200. Back on Wazwaz, he started to talk.

"Well played sir, I didn't think you were that strong," said Wazwaz. "You're way ahead, I just have an ace," and he made the call to put Cortum at risk.

Kelly Cortum: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Rob Wazwaz: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Cortum was in good shape, and stayed that way on the {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, leaving Wazwaz drawing very thin. However. the devastating {8-Spades} hit the turn to reverse the odds. Drama wasn't over, though, as the miracle {q-Clubs} hit the river to bring Cortum back into the lead with a better full house.

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Jeffrey Copeland opened to 2,000 from middle position, the player on his direct left called, and Jun Kim put in a three-bet to 5,000 from late position. Both Copeland and the player in between called.

No action was to be found on the {q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, all three players checked.

Jeffrey Copeland checked the {j-Spades} turn, but the player in between bet 3,600. Kim didn't think long before raising to 15,000, committing a large portion of his stack. The other two let their cards go and Kim won without a showdown.

Jordison Wins Limped Pot

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The under the gun player limped, causing a reaction of limps from the cutoff, Angela Jordison on the button, the small blind, and the big blind player to check.

The flop came out {5-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and all five players checked.

Another ace, the {a-Diamonds} hit the turn, the small blind player led for 2,000, and Jordison made the call.

The river was an inconsequential brick and both players checked.

The small blind had {10-Spades}{7-Hearts} but Jordison had {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for the better kicker and the winner.

Mingus Makes the Pure Nutter Butters on Gin Turn Card

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action picked up on the turn in a heads-up pot with about 25,000 in the middle. the board showed {j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The dealer, Kirby Brewer, has been dealing some bad beats today, so this one was likely to get juicy.

John Mingus was in position against his only opponent in the big blind. That player bet 20,000, and Mingus made the call with about 45,000 behind heading to a river.

The final card was the {3-Spades} and the player in the big blind bet again, this time 25,000. Mingus thought for a bit before announcing, "All in," pushing his 45,100 across the line. His opponent thought for about 30 seconds and made the call.

Mingus showed {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the nuts while his opponent turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for the straight.

Lehmann Finds a Double

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A player in early position raised to 3,000 before Dan Lehmann moved all in for about 27,000. In the big blind, another opponent moved all in for about 70,000. The original opener contemplated risking it all, but folded.

Dan Lehmann: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-}{q-}

The opener shared what he had too. "I folded two red tens," a good fold given the circumstances.

He wasn't happy to see the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop. The turn {9-Spades} and river {j-Diamonds} kept the kings in the lead to give Lehmann the double.
