The PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) has returned to Scotland for the first time in eight years. The UKIPT Edinburgh runs October 24-29 at Genting Casino Fountain Park. The £1,100 Main Event continues today with Day 1b starting at 1 p.m. local time.
Players in the Main Event will start the tournament with a stack of 30,000 chips. Blind levels will run for 40 minutes and start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout the day, including a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 8.
Day 1b is the second of three starting flights. A maximum of three entries per flight are allowed, with late registration open until the start of Level 11.
Day 1c, the turbo flight with 20-minute blinds, also runs today starting at 7 p.m. local time. Both flights will play down to 15 percent of the field. Those who make it through will return for Day 2 already in the money.
At the end of Day 1a, Daniel Gormley finished as the chip leader with 436,500 chips and Nohad Teliani bagged and tagged in second with 372,000.

Mark Eadie opened the action with a raise to 300 and picked up four callers, including Casaca Sena and Alistair Hill in late position, as well as Michael Conroy in the small blind and the player in the big blind.
The flop came 4♥Q♠2♠ and all five players checked it back. The turn was the 2♦. Conroy led out for 300 and was called by Sena and Hill.
Three players went to the river, which came the K♠. Conroy bet out again for 500. Both Sena and Hill called again. Conroy showed 5♣2♣ for trip deuces to win the pot.
