Day 2 of the 2018 Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event starts at noon local time. There are 182 players left out of a total of 592 players who started the tournament. Aleksi Himanen has the overall chip lead after bagging 303,000 on Day 1b of the tournament. Yaron Turgeman claims the second spot on the leaderboard with a stack of 302,500. They're the only players entering Day 2 with a stack over 300,000.
592 players tried to give it a shot in the 2018 Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event. The first edition of the Unibet Open in Bucharest attracted 603 entries and the second edition 502. This year's Main Event almost set a new record for the Unibet Open Bucharest but they came 11 players short. Yesterday's action saw Himanen come out on top with the biggest stack. He is followed closely by Milad Oghabian with 292,500 and [Removed:124] with 279,500. Anton Markov grabbed the chip lead on Day 1c with a stack of 173,000.
Other players that made it through and will make an appearance on Day 2 of the tournament include Unibet Poker Ambassadors David Lappin (103,000), Alan "Hotted89" Widmann (90,000), Dara O'Kearney (39,300), and Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen (19,500). Others that made it through are Mateusz Moolhuizen (212,000), Gareth James (170,000), and Deddi Orpaz (51,000). Vlad Darie stands fourth on the Romanian all time money list and also made an appearance in Bucharest. Darie has 72,000 to play with.
The players will start today in the level 1,200/2,400 with a 300 ante. The plan is to play down to a final table or play 11 one-hour levels. Nandor Solyom limped from the under the gun position and saw Cosmin Petrica raise to 9,500 from middle position. All other players folded but Solyom called.
The flop came and Solyom checked to Petrica. Petrica bet 7,000 and Solyom called within a second.
