Fabian Gets Tricky

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

A player in early position opened for 50,000 and Vasile Fabian flatted one spot to his left. It was folded to Kris Tong who reraised to 130,000. The original raiser tanked for a minute before folding and the action was back on Fabian. He thought for a moment and then pushed forward a large stack of chips for a four-bet of 325,000. Tong thought for just a moment before tossing his cards to the dealer.

"Show?" asked Tong. Fabian wasn't going to at first but then obliged saying "I only play aces" as he turned over {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

Tong is still in good shape with 1,050,000 in chips while Fabian moved up to 850,000.

Nguyen Wins Massive Pot to Bust Tong

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Khoa Nguyen
Khoa Nguyen

We didn't catch the action but all the chips went in the middle on a {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop and Kris Tong was at risk with {J-}{J-} and in need of help as Khoa Nguyen held {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a flopped set. The turn was the {A-Hearts} and the river was the {Q-Clubs} and that would be the end of Tong's tournament.

Nguyen moved up to 1,850,000 in chips which looks to be the chip lead at this point.

Helder Cracks Rice's Aces

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jason Helder
Jason Helder

A player in early position opened for 40,000 and Jason Helder flatted from middle position. Shawn Rice reraised to 140,000 and the original raiser folded. Helder moved all in and was snap-called by Rice who turned over {A-}{A-} and was in great shape to double up against the {10-}{10-} Helder had.

The flop came {J-}{9-}{2-} keeping Rice in the lead but the turn would give Helder some life as it was the {7-}. Any ten or eight would crack Rice's aces and it would be the eight that would end up doing him in on the river. A disappointed Rice headed off to collect his winnings while Helder stacked 2,300,000 in chips to move into the chip lead.

Campanello Takes Out Samples

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Lynn Samples
Lynn Samples

It was folded to Lynn Samples on the button who moved all in for approximately 300,000. The small blind folded and Bryan Campanello quickly called out of the big blind with {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. Samples would need some help as she had {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} to eliminate Samples. Campanello added the much needed chips to his stack and had 850,000 at the end of the hand.

Baker Drags Nice Pot

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
David "ODB" Baker
David "ODB" Baker

David "ODB" Baker was facing a raise to 50,000 and bumped it up light to 75,000. It was folded back to the original raiser who called. The flop came {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Baker would have his 75,000 bet check-called by his opponent. The turn was the {6-Spades} and again Baker would get check-called with his bet being 100,000 this time.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Baker's foe checked once again. This time Baker put out a bet of 270,000 and was quickly called. Baker tabled {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a full house with a sheepish grin saying "I misclicked pre-flop." His opponent turned over {K-Spades}{9-} for top pair that had turned into a king high flush on the river.

Baker is up to 1,750,000 after the hand, a far cry from where he was earlier in the day when he was down to 125,000.

Lewis Can't Lay Down Top Pair

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Travis Rice
Travis Rice

We got to the table with 275,000 already in the pot and Austin Lewis facing an all in reraise from Travis Rice after he had raised to 250,000. The board was {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and Rice sat motionless, looking down at his stack.

Lewis stood up muttering "crazy" to himself. He took his hat off and ran his hands through his hair.

"I think I know exactly what you have," said Lewis to a non-responsive Rice. "I'm 88%... 90% sure... I know exactly what you have. I hope I don't fold this."

"I want to fold it but I don't think I can," Lewis continued. A sigh. "Brutal. This is painful. What would a good player do right now?"

No longer able to take the agony, Lewis said the words... "I call."

He wished he hadn't as Rice turned over {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a turned flush. Lewis had {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and would need an ace or six on the river to stay alive. The river was neither as it was the {4-Hearts}.

"Nice hand," said a disappointed Lewis as he shook Rice's hand. Rice moved to 2,200,000 with that sizable pot.
