Day 2 Brings the Money, March to the Final Nine

Andy Philachack
Andy Philachack

While most of the country is lounging in a pool, attending a BBQ or maybe even a baseball game this Labor Day, the 107 returning players for Day 2 have a long day of hard work ahead of them. The returning 107 players have locked up at least a min-cash but all eyes are on the final table about ten levels ahead of them.

Andy Philachack returns with the overall lead with 936,000 after he won a huge hand at the end of Day 1A where his aces ran into kings and he earned a full double up. He has a talented top 10 chasing him down with Mike Wang, Jake Bazeley, Zo Karim, Maxx Coleman, Chris Staats and Gordon Vayo all in the top 10.

Experienced tournament veterans Grant Hinkle, Brandon Steven, Kane Kalas, and Andy Hwang all return six-figure stacks. Alex Greenblatt, Patrick Eskandar and Daniel Fuhs will have much steeper a climb to the final table starting the day at the bottom of the counts.

The prize pool has not been made official yet and as soon as that information is released, we'll get it posted.

The structure calls for 10 one-hour levels for Day 2 with the tournament director's discretion if the day runs long. Cards are scheduled to hit the air at 1 p.m. Follow all the action live on PokerNews.com.
