Raphael Duval
Raphael Duval

Spencer Jean-Baptiste was just eliminated in 10th place ($10,000) and the remaining nine players have come together to form the partypoker Grand Prix Canada final table!

Raphael Duval began the day as the chip leader and has never let up. He sits on 63 million chips, good for a third of the total chips in play. He also has almost triple the amount of the next-biggest stack.

The shortest stack still belongs to Paul Scott (6.7 million), and Jeff Cuccurullo is just one elimination away from securing a $10,000 package for holding the partypoker Golden Chip for being an online qualifier.

Spencer Jean-Baptiste
Spencer Jean-Baptiste

Spencer Jean-Baptiste put his tournament life on the line against tournament chip leader Raphael Duval, moving all-in preflop.

Jean-Baptiste: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Duval: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Jean-Baptiste faded the {9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop but the {a-Clubs} on the turn gave Duval the lead and no help from the river {6-Diamonds} sent Jean-Baptiste to the rail in 10th place, sending the final nine players to the final table.

Franco A Eliminated in 12th Place ($10,000)

Level 32 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Franco A
Franco A

Franco A limped in from under the gun and action folded around to the blinds. Raphael Duval limped in from the small blind and Debra Ann Holman checked her option in the big blind.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and both blinds checked to Franco. He put out a bet worth 800,000 and action was back on Duval. After a moment of thought, the chip leader put in a check-raise to 2,200,000. Holman was staring off into space, not realizing it was her turn, but eventually folded after about a minute. Franco moved all-in for 6,500,000 and Duval snap-called.

Franco was at risk with {k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a pair of jacks, up against Duval's {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for both a flush and a straight draw. The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and the river was the {7-Clubs}, giving Duval a flush to eliminate Franco in 12th place.

Franco stood up, visibly frustrated, and said "I'd rather lose a hand like that to someone like him" as he pointed to Spencer Jean-Baptiste.

Matthew Wilkins
Matthew Wilkins

Brandon Aaron Kitchen opened to 1,300,000 from late position and Matthew Wilkins moved all-in for 8,650,000 from the cutoff. Kitchen called

Wilkins was the player at risk with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, up against Kitchen's {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

"Queens against tens!" exclaimed kitchen to his rail. He was on his feet as the flop came {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}, and Wilkins took the lead with a set of tens. He shook his head in disappointment but then turn was the {q-Hearts} to give the lead back to Kitchen with a bigger set. The river was the {3-Clubs} and Wilkins was eliminated, taking home $8,500 for his run in 15th place.

Raphael Duval
Raphael Duval

With the recent elimination of Romio Mikhael in 17th place ($7,000), the final two tables have come together

The start-of-day chip leader Raphael Duval has almost doubled the stack he began the day with, and sits on 42,800,000 chips, more than double the next-biggest stack. That stack belongs to online qualifier Jeff Cuccurullo with 21,000. Debra Ann Holman sits in third place for now, with the only other online qualifier Nicholas Riseley blinding out and sitting in last place with 440,000. Riseley was unable to make it to the event and has laddered up significantly after starting the day with just over 5 million in chips.
