The dealers have shuffled up and the cards are in the air here in Malta.
We have 26 players still in the WPT Malta Main Event but only 25 players in their seats because Yorane Kerignard is so far AWOL. If any of you fine people know him and have a contact number for him then give him a call because he is being blinded away. He does have over 500,000 chips but still.
From under the gun Tony G opened to 9,000 and found one caller, Rodrigo Dos Santos in the big blind. Dos Santos checked the arrival of the flop and then folded when Tony G fired an 11,000 continuation bet.
As he was stacking his chips, Tony G became aware that the player to his left, Valeriy Chupin, is Russian.
"Warren! (calling out to Warren Lush of bwin.party) We've got a Russian here. I'm going to send him home!"
Tony G then smiled at Chupin and said, "Don't worry I will make you famous!"
One of the first hands of the day also happens to be one of the biggest of the tournament so far.
Alessio Isaia, himself a WPT champion, opened from under the gun and the action folded to Ilan Boujenah in the small blind. He checked his cards and three-bet to 21,000. Isaia then four-bet, Boujenah shoved for 300,000 and Isaia beat him into the pot with a call.

An ill-timed move by Boujenah looked to be rewards as the first two cards on the flop were the and . However, the third flop card was the gifting Isaia a set. The turn and river were the and and Boujenah plummets to 95,000.

The latter opened to 9,000 in late position and then snap-called when Schembri three-bet all in for around 60,000 in the big blind. Schembri flipped over and Chen Kuo the .

Call off the search party as Yorane Kerignard has finally taken his seat here in the Casino at Portomaso.
One of his first tasks was to call a 7,000 button raise from Tony G whilst sitting in the big blind. The flop came down and Kerignard check-folded to an 8,000 continuation bet.
Sampo Ryynanen is seated directly to Kerignard's left and he has just searched for his new foe on the Hendon Mob database. He now knows the man to his right has over $850,000 in live tournament winnings and is a very dangerous opponent indeed.
We have lost another player here in Malta and the money bubble is looming. Giovanni Accetta is the latest casualty. He got his stack in with and ran into the of Jack Salter. The jacks held and Accetta busted.
