Wilhelm Breaks Two

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Guillaume Wilhelm looks to be the chip leader as he just busted two players in one hand.

The flop was{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Sabare Atmani was all in for his last 12,000 and had been called by the player to his left and Wilhelm. Atmani sensed he was in bad shape and stood up. The other player only had a few chips left and they went in to the middle when the turn card came the{9-Spades}. The river was the {7-Hearts} and it was time to show.

Atamani’s {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} was, as he suspected, no good. The player to his left tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} but lost out to the turned flush {a-Spades}{7-Spades} of Wilhelm.

Daher Flush

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Ali Daher looks to be one of the older players competing in the Main Event Day 1a flight but he now has a pile of chips in front of him. We didn’t see how the action went but all the chips were in the middle and the final board read {10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Daher was the victor with his {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} sat in front of him as the chips were pushed his way and his vanquished opponent could only stagger away from the tables and Daher proceeded to neatly stack his chips.

Late Comers Swell Numbers

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

The early start proved a little too testing for some players with the 80 who sat down at 10 a.m. now reading 143 total entrants. Of those there are still 132 with chips in front of them.

Wilhelm Shows Who’s Boss

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Guillaume Wilhelm was the early position raiser and two players had come along reaching the turn of a board reading {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

A check from Wilhelm saw the player to his let bet 3,600 get a call and then it was back to Wilhelm. Sizing up the situation Wilhelm splashed out a check-raise to 11,150. The player to his left quickly mucked but the other player took his time to think.

When he did muck another player, not in the hand, loudly exclaimed something in French that prompted Wilhelm to toss his cards at him face up to ensure his curiosity was satisfied. It was the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

It looks like Wilhelm is intent on bullying the table when he can, using his stack to push people of marginal hands and take any edge where he can find it.

No Go For Nadot

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Mireille Nadot doesn’t seem to be having the best of luck today, never getting above starting stack and getting punished for any move she tried to make.

On a flop of {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} Nadot was in the small blind and checked. Her opponent bet out 1,600 and Nadot went for a chunky check-raise to 6,000. Her opponent responded by moving all in, easily covering the 7,000 Nadot had behind, but Nadot flicked the cards away.

Pecheux In Position

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

There was an open to 1,200 and one caller before the action got to Erwann Pecheux on the button. Pecheux made the call and the small blind came along too.

The flop of {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} was checked around and on the turn {3-Hearts} the player who flat called preflop bet 2,100. Pecheux was the only caller and the dealer put out the final card the {2-Spades}. Pecheux now faced a bet of 4,600 and he rolled his eyes before throwing in a single chip to indicate a call.

Pecheux’s call was good enough though as his opponent mucked and he scooped the pot cards unseen.
