Wilhelm Keeps Climbing

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

It seems like every time we pass his table Guillaume Wilhelm is involved in a hand. He was at it again just now opening the action from early position and picking up two callers.

Wilhelm continuation bet the flop of {3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and got two quick folds. For good measure Wilhelm showed the table his {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. When you’re hot, you’re hot.

Snap But No Crack

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Quentin Lecompte must have thought Christmas had come early. He was heads-up in a pot and had reached the turn of a board reading {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} and when his opponent moved all in he snapped him off.

Christmas will have to wait however as his opponent showed {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Lecompte tabled {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Like a pulled cracker with no bang the disappointment on both their faces was sad to see.

Wilhelm Ruthless

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Guillaume Wilhelm opened from early position and faced off against a player in the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. The player in the big blind made it 2,500 and Wilhelm nonchalantly threw out a raise to 6,075.

His opponent went in the tank. He had 17,000 behind with two cards to come and Wilhelm was the most aggressive player at the table with the biggest stack. Nevertheless he threw out the calling chips and checked in the dark for good measure.

The turn card was the {3-Clubs} and Wilhelm placed out a bet of 5,050. That took down the pot and added a small heap to Wilhelm’s castle.

Guilbault Maintaining

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

It’s not going too bad today for Cindy “Tite Diabl!!” Guilbault, but it hasn’t been that great either.

Guilbault opened from early position and picked up two callers including the big blind. A flop of {k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} saw no action but on the turn card {5-Hearts} Guilbault bet out 2,500. One call and a fold from the big blind.

The river {a-Hearts} didn’t seem to impress Guilbault who quickly checked. Her opponent took a while to put together his bet of 7,200 but her cards hit the muck a fraction after his bet his the table.

Ktorza Faces Kings

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

There is a time and a place for subtlety in poker but when Philippe Ktorza picked up {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} all his chips went in the middle preflop and the dealer could sort out the rest. Unfortunately he had run into his opponents {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

A run out of {2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} finished the dream, at least for today.

Nadot Hangs On

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Mireille Nadot had slipped to 7,000 after a miss-timed check-raise earlier and had to wait patiently, handcuffed as she seemed to be with that stack size.

We didn’t see the action but can report that Nadot has managed to turn that into just over 12,000. More work to do, but she is still in.

Lecompte Wins Big Pot

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Quentin Lecompte opened the action for 1,300 and faced a three-bet to 4,300 from the player in the small blind. Lecompte four-bet to 8,000 and his opponent made the call leaving 12,000 behind.

The flop was {2-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and when it was checked to Lecompte he bet a small 3,000. His opponent check-raised all in and Lecompte snapped him off showing his {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} first. His opponent deflated and turned over {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

A turn {6-Clubs} and river {3-Clubs} sealed the deal and Lecompte picked up a big pot on the way to busting a player.
