Well That Escalated Quickly

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

It all began harmlessly enough as a player in early position opened for 150 and picked up six callers to see a seven-way flop of {k-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}. The preflop raiser didn’t fancy a continuation bet and it checked round to the player on the button who made a bet of 650.

The player in the small blind and a middle position player made the call so the competitors were whittled down to three. The turn card was the {2-Spades} and again it was checked to the player on the button. He bet 850 and now just the small blind put out calling chips.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and now the small blind led out for 2,800. The player on the button asked the dealer to spread out the pot and it turned out to be right around 8,000. This prompted a raise from the button to 8,025 but that wasn’t the end of the action. The player in the small blind took back his chips and made it 17,000. That bet did end the action as the button folded and the swollen pot was pushed the way of the small blind.
