Tiny Little Bets

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ramin Hajiyev opened for 6,500 from the hijack and Anthony Zinno in the cutoff made the call. Giacomo Fundaro in the small blind three-bet to 21,500 and the big blind and Hajiyev both folded. Zinno called.

Fundaro bet a mere 3,500 on {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, Zinno called. Fundaro bet another 5,500 on the {8-Hearts} turn and this time Zinno folded rather quickly.

Marsh Doubles Through "popie"

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Luke Marsh made it 6,500 from the hijack and small blind Erik "popie" van den Berg three-bet to 17,500. Marsh called.

Van den Berg fired three bullets: 14,500 on the {5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop, 25,000 on the {6-Spades} turn, and allin for 77,000 effectively on the {A-Spades} river.

Marsh called all three streets with {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}, and beat out Van den Berg's bluff with {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

Welcome to Coolerville, Population: Frederik Andersson

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Frederik Andersson
Frederik Andersson

We just caught the end of a massive pot that involved Frederik Andersson and Aki Pyysing, as we heard, "All in" and "Call" in rapid succession.

The board showed {8-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs} when Andersson shoved on Pyysing, and the latter snap-called tabling {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the nut flush.

Andersson sheepishly showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the second nuts, and he sent over a huge portion of his stack across the table.

Pyysing is now one of the tournament chip leaders.

Double Up for Van Zandbeek

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The board showed {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{A-Hearts} when Rumen Nanev checked to Remco van Zandbeek who bet 17,000. Nanev, who had his opponent covered by a big margin, moved all in and Van Zandbeek went into the tank.

Van Zandbeek had just 23,000 chips left behind, and after a while he decided to commit his last chips.

Nanev showed {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, but that was not enough to get rid of Van Zandbeek who tabled {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Huge Cooler Ends Marsh' Tournament Life, Van den Bijgaart Over 700,000!

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Joep van den Bijgaart
Joep van den Bijgaart

Joep van den Bijgaart opened the hand with a raise from the hijack and Marsh, who had just doubled through Van den Berg, made the call from the big blind.

Marsh checked on a flop of {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Van den Bijgaart bet 7,500. Marsh called.

The {K-Clubs} fell on the turn and Marsh checked again. Van den Bijgaart bet 18,000 and again Marsh called.

The {J-Spades} completed the board and Marsh checked a third time. Van den Bijgaart bet 42,000 and not long after Marsh shoved all in. Van den Bijgaart just about instantly called, though it wasn't with the happiest face in the world.

Van den Bijgaart's face would soon change as Marsh didn't turn over the feared {A-}{4-} or {6-}{4-}, but the lower set that Van den Bijgaart had hoped for with {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Van den Bijgaart showed {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and was pushed the huge pot.

The start of day chip leader is now even richer, Marsh is out.

Zinno's Dream Shatters to Pieces

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

The record of having three World Poker Tour titles will not be broken here in Amsterdam, as WPT Player of the Year Anthony Zinno has just been knocked out.

Carlos Mortensen, Gus Hansen and Zinno will share this record a bit longer, and here's how Zinno hit the rail.

On Zinno's final hand he raised to 6,000 and Giacomo Fundaro three-bet to 14,000. The action folded back to Zinno and he moved all in.

"Even before I opened I thought that this would be a great spot for him to three-bet me with air," Zinno said explaining his move.

The move however did not work, as Zinno shoved {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} into the Italian's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

The board brought out {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Spades} and Zinno was knocked out. Fundaro is now one of the chip leaders, and very much alive for his second WPT title.

Govert Metaal Flops Flush, Gets Eliminated

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

"You'll never believe this" Govert Metaal standing on the rail said with a smile as we asked him what had happened.

David Hudson opened and Govert Metaal on the button called with {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. The flop came {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{X-Diamonds} and Hudson made a bet of 7,500. Metaal called.

Hudson bet another 17,500 after a blank hit the turn, Metaal called again with about 40,000 behind.

Hudson shoved all in on the {K-} river and Metaal called with his flopped flush. Unfortunately for Metaal, Hudson had flopped a set of threes that had made a full house on the river.

Day 3, Pim van Riet's Day

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Pim van Riet
Pim van Riet

Pim van Riet was all smiles, and rightfully so as he had 550,000 in front of him. He told us about two big hands that got him there.

First he opened with {Q-}{Q-} to 7,000, and got three-bet to 18,000. Van Riet shoved all in and his opponent called with {A-}{K-}. A queen-high flop gave Van Riet a set and almost unbeatable hand. The turn and river were both blanks and Van Riet gained a lot of chips.

Not much later, Van Riet opened with {J-}{Q-} and Barrie Pietersz called. The flop came {Q-}{X-}{X-} with two spades and Van Riet bet 11,000. Pietersz raised to 28,000 and Van Riet called.

A {J-} on the turn made both players check and a {9-} hit the river. Van Riet bet out 15,000 and Pietersz raised to 125,000. Van Riet made the call with his top-two, Pietersz had to muck his {J-}{9-}.
