Chino Rheem: Poker's Answer to a Yo-Yo

Sam El Sayed
Sam El Sayed

Sam El Sayed has doubled up through Chino Rheem. Having been watching action elsewhere, we arrived to find Sayed counting down his remaining 268,000 chips to which Rheem was counting out to match.

The board was showing {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Sayed's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} were proudly on display (according to Aubin Cazals, Rheem showed a seven then mucked).

Chaadeh Cheesed Off

Dominik Nitsche opened to 12,000 preflop and George Chaadeh moved all in for his final 35,000. Behind him Stuart Fox reraised all in for 45,000 and Nitsche made the call.

Chaadeh: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Fox: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Nitsche: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} which gave the shortest stack a few more outs but the {6-Spades} put him within touching distance of a treble up. However, the {Q-Spades} on the river was enough to give Fox the entire pot, boosting himself to 145,000 and knocking out Chaadeh in 36th place.

Andras Nemeth Busts Out

Andras Nemeth has been nursing a short stack for a while but not anymore because he has been eliminated.

Husnu Sincar min-raised under the gun and the action folded to Nemeth on the button. He got his 14,000 chips into the middle and Dominik Nitsche called in the big blind. Sincar tried to raise but was told Nemeth's raise was not a valid raise due to its size, so Sincar could only call.

Nitsche checked the {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop then folded when Sincar bet.

Sincar: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Nemeth: {K-Spades}{8-Spades}

Nemeth needed running cards to a split or an eight to win but neither scenario happened as the turn and river were the {2-Clubs} and {j-Spades} respectively and Nemeth became the tournament's latest casualty.

Loeser Loses Out

Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

Manig Loeser has become our 33rd place finisher after he lost a coinflip against Gilboa Yossi.

Loeser shoved 91,000 with {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and was looked up by Yossi's {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Loeser stayed ahead right up to the river but the board double paird to counterfeit his hand and send him to the rail. The board read {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs} by the way.

Le Sigh

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Sebastien Leclercq moved all in from the big blind over a raise in the small from Artur Voskayan only to be snap-called. The Frenchman did not look happy.

Leclercq: {K-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Voskayan: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The board came {7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and that was enough to dispatch Leclercq.

No Luck For Nitsche or Fox

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Dominik Nitsche is lamenting his bad luck after he was eliminated by Andrey Shatilov.

Nitsche held {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} against the Russian's {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a 420,000 pot but the board ran out {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{J-Spades} in favour (or favor if you're in the US) of Shatilov.

Elsewhere, a short-stacked Stuart Fox is out having pushed with {A-}{9-} and couldn't outdraw {J-}{J-}.
