Mindy Trinidad opened with , and a short(ish)-stacked Kathleen Gliva (who hasn't played a hand in an hour) moves all in with . Trinidad plays her rush, and makes the call. The board brings , and Trinidad may be starting to think about vacationing in Tabago, as she takes a pretty big hit.
Mindy Trinidad moved in again, this time with and Frauke Ritter Von Sporschill looked down at , and made the call...interesting considering she hadn't played a hand in forever. It wound up being a good choice, as a spade-rich board of made Frauke rich, and crippled Trinidad down to about 50,000 in chips.
At this actionless final table, you have to give Mindy Trinidad some credit. She moves in for about the 10th time in the last 90 minutes, but this time she gets called by a better hand. Mindy shows , and Anne Heft moves all in over the top with . The fate of this table seems to be that of a marathon, as the board brings , and Mindy and Anne chop the pot.
You sense a shift in Katja's mindset on this hand. Mindy moves in for the umpteenth time, and Katja calls her with . Mindy flips over , and she is all in for her tournament life one more time The flop brings a queen, but also an ace. Katja Thater is realizing we will be here all night, as no one wants to play. Katja tries to force the action by raising with , and Anne Heft moves in over the top with . Katja has the math to call, and throws a few more chips out. The flop beings a , but the turn is an , and Anne doubles up through Katja. Katja is losing momentum.
With no action for almost three hours, we have had some serious action in the last few minutes...much of it at the expense of Katja Thater. Katja just ran into an unfortunate situation when she opened with for 100k, and was re-raised all in by the next-closest to her in chips. Sally Anne Boyer (who has played just four pots in three hours) moved in for 343,000 total. Thater tanked for a good two minutes, but made the call. Boyer flipped up , and for the first time in hours, Thater's dominance was at risk.
The board never gives Katja a chance except the two tens, and for the first time in hours, we have a new chip leader in Sally Anne Boyer.
Sally Anne Boyer is fresh off attending the WSOP Ladies Academy, recently held in Las Vegas. She has rolled that recent experience into a WSOP final table run.
