Saro Getzoyan Takes a Pot From Geoff Sanford

The blinds are so big now than any confrontation leaves a scar. Geoff Sanford raised before the flop and was three-bet by Saro Getzoyan. The flop came {A-Spades}

and both players checked. They also both checked the {4-Hearts}

on the turn, but Getzoyan led out after the {5-Diamonds}

fell on the river. Getzoyan showed the {A-Clubs}

and Sanford mucked.

William Thorsson Hits on the River

Saro Getzoyan called a preflop raise by William Thorsson and then, after the {8-Diamonds}

flop, check-raised Thorsson, who called. Getzoyan bet out after the {6-Spades}

on the turn and the {A-Clubs}

on the river but couldn't lose Thorsson, who flipped over {3-Clubs}

for the flush.

Saro Getzoyan has his chips lined up in a great, pink brick -- with a few carefully-counted stacks set aside that he can push in to call and/or raise. Stacking your chips in that way is supposed to tell you something about the player...in this case I think it means that he's the big chip leader.

William Thorsson is Eliminated in Third Place

William Thorsson lost most of his stack to Geoff Sanford in a huge pot. The two players three-bet before the flop, which came down {7-Hearts}

. The turn was the {4-Diamonds}

and the two players traded raises until all of Sanford's chips were in the middle. And that's when Thorsson learned that he'd been terribly unlucky -- his pocket sixes now trailed Sanford's {4-Spades}

. The river was the {5-Hearts}

and that left Thorsson with just 50K left.

He was eliminated on the next hand when he was forced to toss in the last of his chips in the big blind with {8-Diamonds}

. Sanford finished the job he started with {A-Spades}

, and William Thorsson finished in third place, winning $136,493.
