Thank You, Mr. President

There's a player in the field today considered by many of his peers to be one of the best hi-lo split players on the planet, and that's both tournaments and cash games.

Amazingly, he was actually fired by President Ronald Reagan the year that all air traffic controllers refused to report to work while bargaining for better benefits.

The president sent 6-7,000 National Guard servicemen to airports around the country to replace them; thus the poker birth of "Miami" John Cernuto.

Cernuto packed his bags and headed to Vegas after he lost his job. He worked as a dealer for one year, but quickly found success as a player and has never looked back.

He's won three WSOP bracelets so far and has President Reagan to thank for altering his life's path.
