On A Rush

John "Sir Scoopalot" Guth picked a good time to go on a heater. He won a huge pot against David Flores on hand #111 when, with the board reading {4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and the middle of the felt piled high with pink chips, Guth turned over K-10 for the nut straight and the pot. Flores looked disgusted as he flashed two cards to Guth before tossing them in the muck.

The Rush Continues

John Guth just won another big pot against David Flores on hand #113. Flores check-raised Guth on the {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop and Guth check-called bets on the {Q-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Spades} river. He then turned over A-A-3-K for Aces up and the low, and Flores again mucked his cards.

An Added Distraction

The first-place prize money has just been piled on the table, with the World Series bracelet perched on top. Just in case the players needed something else to hold their attention.

A Queen on The River Saves David Flores

On hand #120 David Flores and Robert Stevanovski saw a {10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, and Robert called David's 40K bet. Flores bet 80K when the {3-Hearts} fell on the turn and Stevanovski called again, as he did when the {Q-Diamonds} hit on the river. Flores turned over a Queen for trips, and Robert dejectedly flipped over a three, showing that he'd turned trips only to be beaten by that Queen on the river

David Flores Is Eliminated in 3rd Place

After losing yet another big pot to John Guth when Guth rivered a full house, David Flores committed the last of his chips against Robert Stevanovski with Q-Q-7-3. But Flores was unlucky to run into Stevanovski's monster A-A-K-K. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{J-Spades}, Flores didn't get the help he needed, and he collects $148,708 for finishing in 3rd place.

Best Nickname Ever?

They call John Guth "Sir Scoopalot," and rarely has a nickname seemed more apt. He's been scooping pots all day and he doesn't seem to be tiring of it. In the first big heads-up hand Guth showed a rivered flush and a 3-4 low on a {5-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} to gather in a huge pot. He now has 2.2 million to Stevanovski's 550K, and Guth's friends are becoming even more vocal as the chips keep sliding their boy's way.
