O'Donnell's Reraise Makes Lawson Fold; Commentary by Tony Hachem

When the action got around to Ted Lawson in the big blind, he made it 8,000 more to go. Kevin O'Donnell then announced his intent to raise and re-popped it to 15,000. Bill Gazes, who had completed from the small blind, mucked his cards, and the action was back on Lawson who went into the tank for a long, long time.

While Lawson considered his decision, I had a nice little chat with Tony Hachem, who provided us with some insight into the hand, as well as some words on his own tournament progression:

"I've been card dead for the past three hours. I was the chip leader awhile back and now look," he said, pointing to his stack, which stood at about 35,000 at the time.

Tony then went into detail about the hand in progress, as Kevin sat stoically, while Lawson considered a decision:

"Kevin probably has Kings," Tony said. "He (Ted) has either got Queens or Jacks. If he's got Jacks it's an easy laydown. If he's got Queens, well . . . "

At this point, Kevin called for the clock, after a long two minutes had passed.

"He (Ted) can't call . . . he's either got to go all-in or fold," Tony said.

As the tournament director ticked the last seconds off the clock, Lawson mucked his cards face-up, revealing A-K.

"Aye, yah?!" Tony said in shock, as he saw Lawson's hand.

The hand upped O'Donnell's chip stack to just over 60,000.
