Rebuys

Just before dinner break, at the end of Level 3, players had the option to purchase one rebuy if they were at or below 2,000 in chips, as well as one or two add-ons. However, if players had exactly zero chips at the break, they could purchase two rebuys and up to two add-ons. Now that that's clear as mud...

Shuffle Up and Deal!

The management had decided to color up players' chips during the break, hence the delay. It appears they waited for players to return, then colored up for 15 minutes. Play has now restarted.

Controversy at David Levi's Table

It seems David Levi three-bet a hand and then stood up and stepped a little too close to a "National Enquirer" article that players were looking at over at Thor Hansen and Andy Black's table. Levi's hand was immediately declared dead. Levi got upset and called the floor over. He was angry because he had already acted on the hand before standing up.

The first floorman got on the phone to call his boss, who stopped by with two or three other guys. The boss gave the final word that the hand was dead, and even brought over a sheet of rules to back him up. Levi was still upset as he feels this rule has not been applied consistently throughout the series. Play resumed, but not before Thor Hansen gave a coda to the whole thing: "Next time you get up to look at the article -- bring your chair with you!"

Billy Baxter One-Two Punches Mickey Appleman

In two hands, Baxter knocks Appleman down to rebuy range.
Hand #1:

Baxter raises to 300 pre-draw and Appleman calls.
In round 1, Billy stands pat and Appleman draws one card. Baxter bets and Appleman calls.
In round 2, Baxter is pat and Appleman draws one card. Baxter bets and Appleman folds.

"You can't have too much -- I have three deuces," Appleman says. Baxter shows a dealt 8-7-6-5-3.

Hand #2:

Then, Baxter gets a 8-5-4-3-2 and takes more from Appleman. Baxter has 9,200.
