Countdown

The 218 players left in today's $1,500 No-Limit Hold-Em event have been called to the tables and they'll start unbagging and stacking their chips. We'll be starting play in a few minutes.

Greg Mueller Takes An Early Hit

Greg Mueller
Greg Mueller
A short-stacked player moved all-in for 7,800 under the gun and Greg "FBT" Mueller moved all-in himself for 34,000 in total. The other player held {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} while Mueller tabled {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}. The {5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop gave Mueller top pair but the other player picked up straight and flush draws, and after the {A-Spades} turned the {8-Clubs} spiked on the river to give the other player the straight and the pot. Mueller is down to 26,000.

Rapid Fire

We're trying to keep up with the eliminations...and it ain't easy. About 50 players have busted out so far and we're not even an hour into Day Two. Chip up or get up, that seems to the attitude.

Chad Brown Has Been Eliminated

After a player in middle position raised to 10K Chad Brown came over the top for 37,100 in total. The other player called and showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}; Brown had him dominated with {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. But the flop came down {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} to give the other player top pair and even though Brown picked up a gutshot draw when the {10-Diamonds} turned, the {2-Clubs} on the river brought an end to Brown's day.

Shannon Shorr Doubles Up

After a player in late position raised to 9K Shannon Shorr moved all-in for 31,800 in total. The player in the big blind then moved in for 90K and chased the original raiser out of the pot. The big blind's {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} dominated Shorr's {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, but the {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Shorr the wheel and the pot. He doubled up to 80K.

Early Break

The players have been sent on break with 7 minutes left in the level because players are busting out so fast that it's becoming impossible to figure out how many players are left in the field and, therefore, whether we're moving up on the pay scales. So that will all be sorted out while we're on break.
