Small Field - Big Names

The majority of the same 148 players who entered into the $50,000 buy in H.O.R.S.E. event will be here at Noon today, for the $10,000 buy in Pot Limit Omaha event. Come in at noon today to see the who's who of Poker battle it out for the World Championship Of Pot Limit Omaha!

Interesting Format

This is a $10,000 tournament. Players will receive 10,000 in chips, AND receive a 'special' chip, which can be redeemed for another 10,000 chips. So, players get a "rebuy", but this is not a rebuy event.

Fashionably Late

As has been typical of the larger buy-in events, the pros are straggling in today with less than half the field seated. Predictably there are big names loitering about. Jeff Lisandro, Robert Williamson, Annie Duke, Erik Seidel, John Gale, Scotty Nguyen, Huck Seed, John Gale, Mel Judah, Mike Wattel...for starters.

More Notables

Barry Greenstein, Men Nguyen, Humberto Brenes, David Colclough, Mark Vos, John D'Agostino, Farnood Sherkhan, Bill Chen, new WSOP bracelet winner Bill Edler, Greg Raymer, JC Tran....

Shuffle Up and Deal!

"Pot Limit Omaha Extraordinaire" Robert Williamson (as senior tournament director Jack Effel just referred to him) has made the official announcement and the cards are in the air.

Easy Pickin's

As has been mentioned, many of the entrants to this event have not yet arrived. The blinds at table 31 for example, are going to be a relatively easy steal as only three players from that table have taken their seats.

The Best of the Best

The talent pool in this event is not unlike that of the $50K H.O.R.S.E. event of a few days ago. This field is littered with marquee players. Marcel Luske, Erik Seidel, Gavin Smith, Doyle Brunson, Annie Duke, Chris Reslock, Young Phan, Robert Mizrachi, Huck Seed, David "Devilfish" Ulliott, Phil Ivey, Mickey Appleman, Erick Lindgren, Lyle Berman, Mike Sexton, Dewey Tomko, Phil Laak and Scotty Nguyen are all looking to do well in this event.

Rebuys....Anyone?

The majority of players seem to have elected not to use their rebuy chips immediately. In fact we cant seem to find anyone who has. Although on a table near us John D'Agostino has proposed that the entire table raise all in blind. Which would give plenty of players the opportunity to exercise their rebuy option.
