Dangerous Duos

Here are some of the notable players seated at the same table.

Table 6: Ram Vaswani, Alan Smurfit
Table 5: Bill Chen, Noah Boeken
Table 4: David Baker, Jason Sagle
Table 3: Tony Cousineau, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi
Table 2: Isabelle Mercier, Joe Tehan

Tehan Takes a Pot With No Showdown

Joe Tehan raised from the cutoff seat. The button and big blind called and the three saw a flop of {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Action checked to Tehan who bet, and again both players called. The turn came the {7-Spades}. The big blind checked, Tehan bet, the button folded, and the big blind made the call. The river came a {10-Hearts}. Tehan fired again but was not called. He took down the pot without showing and is now sitting on 31,500 chips.

Kolk's 5-Minute Dinner Break

Marek Kolk, who happens to work for Pokernews, was the last player to win his table and advance to Round 2. Due to scheduling, Round 2 had a mandatory start time of 9 p.m. PDT, even though Marek's win didn't occur until 8:55 p.m. PDT. Marek let us know that he ran as quickly as he could to the kitchen, where he purchased a king-sized Twix candy bar, ate as quickly as he could, then ran back to the Amazon room. Marek is seated at Table 1 and hopes that his dinner break was enough to hold him over.
