Featured Table: Lee Childs Takes a 6.33 Million Pot

Lee Childs
Lee Childs
At the Featured Table, Lee Childs raises from middle position to 180,000, Stefan Mattsson calls from the cutoff, Jerry Yang reraises from the small blind to 1,000,000, and Childs goes into the tank for a few minutes before he calls. Mattson quickly folds, and it's heads-up to the flop with 2.33 million already in the pot.

The flop comes {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Yang bets 2,000,000, and Childs thinks for about 20 seconds before announcing that he is all in -- for more than 5,000,000. His friends and family stand up and applaud, cheering things like "You're the man, Lee!"

Yang thinks for about a minute before he folds, and Childs' cheering section explodes in excitement as he takes down the pot worth 6.33 million.

Player Profiles: Ryan Elson

Ryan Elson
Ryan Elson
Ryan Elson from Canton, Ohio has an amazing story... he's playing in his first live tournament... ever. Elson and his brother got together with some friends and started a poker league home game. Each player put up $500 and the winner would get $10,000 for a buy-in to the WSOP main event plus a few bucks for travel expenses. Ryan Elson won his seat and is representing his poker league back in Canton. Several family members and friends are here on the rail cheering him on.

As of now, Elson is among the final 29 players in the biggest tournament in the world. That's an impressive feat considering that he's playing in his first ever real tournament.

His friend Steve was quick to point out, "Hey wait a minute. My basement is a real tournament!"

From a friend's basement to the final four tables at the WSOP. Ryan Elson is on a magical ride and hoping to make the final table.

Big Hand Brewing at the Featured Table

Even though a break was announced, there is a big hand brewing preflop at the Featured Table. Here's a teaser ...

Lee Childs raises from middle position to 180,000, Stefan Mattsson calls from the cutoff, Jerry Yang reraises from the small blind to 1,000,000 ...

Ron Kluber Eliminated in 29th Place ($285,678)

After Scott Freeman raised to 195,000 from late position Kluber called from the small blind. Both players checked the {8-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{J-Spades} flop and when the {3-Hearts} fell on the turn Kluber shoved for his last 2.8 million.

"Why would you put 2.8 million in that pot?" Freeman mused. He thought it over and made the call with {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, which dominated Kluber's {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. The river was the {3-Clubs} and that eliminated Kluber.
